Ever since I moved to DC my rating has dropped despite the fact that my behavior (which is always polite and respectful) hasn't. I do think it has to do with tips. Not gonna tip, I don't even carry cash with me anywhere.
Why are you so bent out of shape over a fictious score that really won't effect you in any way other than maybe waiting a bit longer for a driver? Since you are taking uber i am assuming you are in a metropolitan area. (Out side of the city, smaller offices, most people drive into work) If that is the case you should have access to more than just uber as a ride home.
Wasn't part of the original point/benefit of Uber that you don't have to tip?
Pwc2. You are not supposed to tip uber drivers. Its in the uber policy. Prople like you screw it up for everyone else so fuck you.
Uber drivers are starting to do this to try to get people to tip... still not going to make me tip.
No, but nobody tips an Uber driver. If someone sucks I give them a 1 and sometimes even file a complaint. It sounds like maybe you're uncooperative/an ass and the drivers just don't like you.
You are encouraging bad behavior by tipping in the first place. From Uber's help section "Tips are not included in the fare, nor are they expected or required."
If anyone tips an Uber drive you should die a slow death. Uber specifically tells you not tip them.
I use uber over lyft specifically because I don't have to tip
It's irritating because I always rate my drivers a 5, and then I log on and see my score decreasing with each ride. It's passive aggressive and messed up.
It affects my desirability as a rider. I don't want to be stuck without an Uber because my rating is artificially low due to not tipping. That's also unfair. Wish they would just allow tipping in-app. There's no doubt in my mind that some / many drivers rate based on tip / no tip.
Yeah but the point was that the drivers made money on Uber - they're not supposed to rely on tips as their wages, unlike servers whose tips make up 95% of their wages
You guys are stupid
Lol. Not sure how you draw that conclusion. I'm waiting for the Uber to come, hop in, am quiet the duration of the ride, say thank you and hop out. I don't eat, make phone calls... how am I being an ass? The guy turned around and put on the light when I was about to get out, which is why I believe he expected a tip.
Why do y'all care so much about this?
Your rating could cause them to be booted from the job that is their only source of income. Their rating of you cannot do the same. You're not being fair
Its also not fair that we are punished for following the rules of Uber and because they are greedy. I am going to start monitoring on a pet ride basis and justice will be done.
I never tip and now give 1's if I notice my rating drop after a drive. #justice
Pwc2 i hope you get fired so you need to start driving uber then you pick me up and I give you a 1 and then you get kicked off uber for having a crappy rating.
And yes it's wrong to rate your driver based on the rating you got.
I never tip either. But you're potentially costing some guy his job because he gave you 4 imaginary points instead of 5
