Does industry usually drug test for marijuana? In a medical state w/ a script from a doc. If so, do I just bring my prescription with me as if it were Xanax/adderal/ etc?
Has anyone successfully taken unpaid leave after short term disability? I think my doctor’s willingness to continue filling out my paperwork for STD is reaching an end but I’m having panic attacks even thinking about returning to work so I’d like to take more time off. I’m willing to take unpaid leave but not sure if broaching this with HR will just cause my company to fire me
no swag bags this year for departing GSAPers, what’s even the point if i can’t rock a sick daddy D patagucci at b-school
Life as a teacher is difficult. It is stressful as a those in the medical and law enforcement profession. These are simple facts that people don't get about what we do.
I’ve never really taken sick days in my entire consulting career, about 2 years in. I do not want to, and I just don’t get sick often. But I’m wondering if this is something that is valued by upper management when evaluating their talent? Any thoughts from leaders and managers in consulting? I’ll continue to be the same regardless but I’ve been curious is this is a strength.
I have a pre employment medical screening at Shell. I mentioned on the form that I suffer from depression and am taking SSRI for it. Do you think this could be a valid reason to fail the screening?
So I’m very sick and someone on fb reached out to see if I needed medicine but when he realized I was a woman he left the chat. There’s that brotherhood.
Director put me on a project and claimed this is my test to see if I'm ready for the next step? Ill be managing more junior staff. I wasn't promoted in the last cycle, so why the test now?
I am on track to FI/RE in 9 years at age 42. But I am burnt out. Considering stepping away for 6 months to a year to do something cool, but don't want to fuck up fi/re. Help me see the forest through the trees? I've been a delayed gratification kind of person my whole life. Sick of waiting.
So what do you guys do at happy hours to make them more interesting? What do you drink? I find them boring because it’s not networking with new people and I’m sick of water or sprite.
Anyone else getting sick of the grind and seriously considering a career move? What are you looking to do next?
Been on FMLA / short term disability for 3 months and doctor recommended 1.5 months extension. My firm refused the extended leave but we’re unable to provide reasons what the under hardship for the firm is. They are pressing me hard for alternative ada accommodation (anything but continuous leave) so I can get back to work. If not they will terminate me next day. Is it legal?
Does anyone else feel like this job is turning their brain to complete mush or should I seek medical advice? 😅 I feel like my memory is 0 and my day to day work doesn’t really involve much critical thinking or problem solving. Suggestions?
What liturgical rite do you observe within the Catholic church? Ill go first, I attend the Traditional Latin Mass of the Latin Roman Rite underneath the one and holy Catholic apostolic umbrella of the church.
I have a chronic illness and WFH has saved my career. There is no way I would have been able to commute to and work in an office consistently. Now, none of my coworkers even know I’m sick.
Breakthrough thought: instead of lying and saying your sick, take a sick day for mental health reasons. 99% you need it
HR keeps trying to paper me up with speed to output crap because they think I’m sick, but the reality is that I’m terminal and probably won’t be around to see the end of this. God I hope they don’t pretend to put up a caring memorial when I’m gone.
Hi! I have two offers and I’m not sure what to do. One is with a small firm that serves as outside counsel to medical practices (leasing, employment issues and acquisitions are primary work load) and the other is in-house for a pharmaceutical company (managing outside counsel, vendor contracts, privacy). The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!
I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Senior Associate role at Guidehouse for the past couple of months but nothing has come up. When would be the best time to look?
What makes the CSR card worth it to you? I will definitely be using the $300 travel credit so just trying to to justify the $150 AF now. (cont.)
I’ve been in a grad job for 1.5 years. Looking to get into MBB at the 2 year mark. What level roles should I be applying for? Also, will I have to do the PST?
Does anyone know what the typical salary is for a PharmD in the pharmaceutical industry? Especially in functional areas like HEOR or market access?
Looking to burn some BonVoy points and suite night awards on a hotel in NYC. Anyone know any hotels with great suites, good for a group of people?
Was anyone on the GPS C&M call today? What did you think about Sundhar’s responses on the very pointed H1b questions?!
have a bit of free time. would you rather spend it studying for a certification which may come with nominal career benefits or studying how to build web apps, which would come with the satisfaction of learning to build something tangible + potential monetary gains
Does Citi really go after your sign on bonus after you quit? Pre tax and pro-rated or pre tax full amount regardless?
👋🏽 I have an LEK consulting interview...any tips on what to expect on the written case? Thanks for your help!
Ladies, I know Deloitte has 16 week parental leave. What’s the policy for your company ( BCG, Bain, McKinsey, PWC, Etc)? Thanks.
i just had an excellent review with my supervisors. we are aligned i am ready to be promoted. i will be moving from project manager to senior project manager. the catch; my company has laid off 75% of its staff, and cut our salaries by 25%. timing is unclear, since we work in the live entertainment space. what is fair to ask for? i have 7 years work force experience, am the only one in my position, touch every creative deliverable the agency makes, and updated and streamlined 10+ processes.
Does the first job after transitioning out of Consulting have a high chance to be short-lived? That hovers over my mind quite a bit about 8 months after I left consulting and took up an in-house role
Hi folks. Could you please share your experience about your partner interview at Deloitte?
I’ve never been a regular vacation-taker, but now I’m resolved to become one. Especially because my company has an unlimited PTO policy. Would 4 weeks of total vacation per year be considered a lot/excessive at your company? I’m thinking of doing two one week vacations, and one two week vacation, and booking them far in advance.
I’m embarrassed to present the current product to my client. I am new to the project and it has been worked on for ~10 months. I am getting tons of pressure to go to UAT but the app is terrible
Midsize firm and I am the only female. The managing partner told me I can’t take anymore vacation days if I take maternity leave. Thoughts?
Studying for case interviews are the worst
Imposter Syndrome - help! I just got the best job offer of my life for a client side position. I’m talking a $30k raise. But it is a LOT more responsibility and I can’t help but feel insane imposter syndrome. They are putting a lot of faith in me for this role and it’s a brand new position internally so there is a lot of pressure to do well. It has me questioning all my qualifications… I recognize there are things I can bring to the table but there is a lot I have to learn in this role.
