How did you get started with this?

Starting out I worked at a bar near an event venue and taught dance, I would definitely clear it with your supervisors and the firm especially if you’re working in the legal field for conflict purposes.

Can I ask at what age people are typically buying their homes here in LA? Wondering at what age people are able to take the plunge.

This “customer is always right” attitude is becoming a dealbreaker. I understand dogs biting out of fear or pain. However, whenever we get aggressive dogs with no training and no warning from the owner, we’re not allowed to do anything except smile and clean our wounds. The head vet has a 0 tolerance policy for speaking up to owners.

I am so sick and fed up with some of the older clients at my job. I know it's my responsibility to take care of them, but they're just so sexist sometimes.

Hey are there any current or former Uber Eats Account Representatives or Executives out there? I am preparing for my final interview which consists of a case study & presentation. Im hoping to get some tips and additional insight. If you see this please respond. I would truly appreciate it.

I’m currently FT at an agency I really want out of. I have an opportunity to go freelance for a 3 month contract (with the potential to renew) for a big brand that pays very well + offers benefits. A big part of me wants to go for it knowing that I’ll continue my conversations I’ve been having with other agencies and cross my fingers something works out for a full time gig once my contract is up. The anxious part of me is very nervous about that uncertainty. Cont...

Has any accountant ever seriously considered opening up their own business, either accounting related or something else?

Me and my SO don’t live together. I visit her once during the week and generally spend weekends with her. What night I go during the week sometimes varies and sometimes I make plans on the weekend where I stay home. Sometimes she gets confused on what nights I’m gonna be there and not be there and when I tell her I’m not coming she acts like she’s sad and disappointed and I feel bad like I need to go pack a bag and go see her that night instead of when I planned. She says she’s not mad or sad.

Hi everyone! I could use some career guidance. I'm currently 32 years old and I have held a career in Big 4 Consulting. I am currently a manager and there is career growth for me to become a senior manager, and eventually a partner in the firm. However, as I grow in this career path, there will be longer hours and added stress. I'm trying to figure out what would be the next best step for me. I'm concerned that I won't ever find another career that would pay as well as this current job does (bas

Any tips for a paralegal who wants to transition to an in-house position? I have 2.5 years of para experience and a decade of admin experience. I have my BA, AS, and AAS which are all related to the paralegal field, and various applicable certificates. I'm also working on my master's in management with a concentration in agency administration. All job postings I see want you to have a certain amount of in-house experience.

I hit my one year at my company on the 15th of November. I had lunch with my boss on the 10th and he mentioned a raise but not how much or when it would be effective.

Flash forward to now, we’ve had 2 paychecks since then and I haven’t received anything. He said last week he would let me know this week, but I’m getting frustrated.

He’s raising my billing rate effective Jan. 1, and I’m worried I won’t get my raise until then. Anyone have something similar happen?

For those of you who have been formally given the title of “senior paralegal” what are the qualifications for that title at your firm? Does your firm do promotions from paralegal to senior paralegal? At my firm we are all simply just “paralegal” (we all fully handle our own dockets, no assistants) and I would like to help develop a concrete career track for paralegal to senior paralegal.

Fried Frank reached out to me about an open senior real estate paralegal position they have in NY, and at first I wasn’t looking to move from my current firm, but then we talked salary (a nearly 50% raise) and now I’m willing to listen a little bit more. What are people’s thoughts on Fried Franks Real Estate team in NY?

How would you generally describe the work environment in a law firm? Is everyone’s firm just an extremely toxic work environment??? I’m a female and I have to say, the nastiest people are the older women— and they’re worse than private school moms or teenage girls.. endless gossip running around, constant shit talking, talking down to one another and whispering, etc.

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone stays safe today. It has been two months since my last role at a law firm. I had only gotten one interview or no callbacks since then.

I am unsure if my resume is wrong in terms of not tailoring my resume or working for multiple law firms for a few months due to being hired through a recruiting agency.

What should I do to get more callbacks/interviews? Should I reach out to HR/Recruiter directly? Should I get a paralegal cert? Should I do the programs on Forage?

That moment when you finally have all the trial submissions and exhibits drafted and given to the partner for final review after spending more hours than you should have gathering and drafting everything because your partner’s idea of case management and trial prep make you want to pull your hair out. The relief I feel right now, albeit temporary, is *chef’s kiss*

Any paralegals here working at Nesenoff & Miltenberg LLP in Manhattan? How’s the culture, pay, and work and life balance?

I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?

Are there any paralegals that do a lot of driving on their personal cars? If so, how do you manage? Its a lot for me and the mileage on my car.

Anyone have advice on reasonable salary range for a contracts manager or senior contracts manager at the big tech companies, Amazon, Google, Meta, etc. in a high cost of living city? Thanks in advance

Looking for some advice; I've been a paralegal for about 5 years now, and the past year or so has been hard. One firm closed, which dropped me in another firm which was never good for me, and then into another with a culture that was really unhealthy to me. My resume shows a few short stays at firms, and now I'm looking at moving after six months due to issues that turned over the entire paralegal team so far except for me. How do I show employers I'm a dedicated worker after a difficult year?

Anyone went from being a paralegal to being a claims rep? I had a recruiter reach out and while it’s not something I ever really wanted, it’s almost double my salary so I am considering it. Would love to hear experiences for anyone who has made this switch.

Hey, does anyone work for Jacobowitz Newman Tversky? Would love to know more about the office and culture .

Anyone in house corporate but for a fashion retailer? This is currently me and I need friends. I work fully remote and no paralegal coworkers.

Hello all! I am currently in a rut as I am having some trouble finding my next role. As a quick background, I previously worked on the written discovery team as a legal assistant (mass tort litigation to be exact). I am trying to figure out my next step, but my last role kept me in a specific bubble as my knowledge revolves around WD and case management. Does anyone have have any advice on finding the next opportunity that understands the skills that I have while also willing to teach?

Does anyone have any insight on being a paralegal with K&L Gates?

Any legal assistants/paralegals working at NYC Health and Hospitals? How’s the culture and environment, pay, and benefits?

Are there any Los Angeles paralegals in this bowl with experience in complex trials? I’m looking to share my woes of dealing with a case with more than 10k exhibits that will never see the light of day on trial. 🫠

I’m also looking to insight for how you handled providing the court with exhibits admitted. I suppose we will find out at the FSC, but I am posting this to find out in advance.
