"we're rolling you off"
“You are horrible, we are rolling you off” — my actual first engagement
Shortness of breath. Slight fever. Exhaustion. Trouble sleeping. If these symptoms persist please contact your resource manager right away
You are in the room when other team members are discussing the next phase of the project and you realize no one has mentioned it to you previously / directly.
Wish I could say this wasn’t from personal experience, but hey, early on in my career I made some mistakes myself.
Work streams and deliverables start to be shifted to other people
Don’t torment yourself wondering. Go have a conversation with your project manager. Own your mistakes and outline the steps you’re taking so it doesn’t happen again. Ask the PM for any additional feedback or concerns they have so you can get ahead of this (assuming you want to). Good luck.
Trust your instincts. If you feel the change in atmosphere and how people are behaving, ex: little standoffish etc, then maybe it's going to happen.
Everyone makes mistakes, especially early on. Make an effort to make up for it and add value in other ways so that you at least roll of on a neutral note instead of a bad one.
Everyone makes mistakes and at all levels . Earlier in the career you make them , the less risky it is . You get to learn from it and move on with minimal damage .
