PwC Deals Tech and Data
Hi, I recently got a call from Pwc Deals Tech and Data service line (Associate level). Can anyone help me understand if this role is:
1. Client facing
2. Requires deep data background ( if yes, which tools, programming lang etc.)
3. Specific prep tips for the interview

When your work products look too good and you're trying not to embarrass client staff. Or opposite of optics -- when the advise/assist team regularly uses client staff logins to complete necessary client work while allowing the client team to present to their oversight that they are performing their inherently governmental tasks themselves.
Worked for a new "startup" business unit at a very formal client. VP insisted on business casual attire in his area. I had to carry my jacket and tie to the end of his corridor, button my shirt, put on the tie and jacket, and proceed down a "formal" corridor every time I had to use the bathroom or attend a meeting.
"Take the back entrance so COO doesn't see when we arrive."
"Do you go by any other names?" Apparently I share a name with someone who had just been fired. It would be to emotionally difficult for people to hear his/my name
P5 obviously trolling
Funny you say that, the same client interned as a janitor at a clown training facility for one summer in between 5th and 6th grade. I actually learned a lot about how big of a positive impact clowns have on post-rural communities.
Switching to a different airline after my flight home got canceled...the airline that canceled my flight was the client
That dude has a long history of internships at weirdly applicable places
PwC 5 -wtf?
Wait, you can tell the brand of contacts by looking at them??
Eating breakfast? Seriously?
P5, what kind of asshat would make you remove contact lenses? That's pretty outrageous. In terms of boundaries, that's one where you could have pushed back.
Not silly, but Avis upgraded us to an Escalade for our rental car a few times - small town, industrial client. We opted to park around the block and walk in.
I know someone from another firm whose client complained about her using earbuds to listen to music while she worked
Had to take my contacts out during a meeting because they could tell they were the expensive brand. Literally digging my contacts out in front of VPs and then throwing them out right in front of everybody. Had bloodshot / teary eyes for the rest of the meeting and I couldn't see shit ☹️
"You guys got an Infiniti SUV??? Return it, what do you think the client will think???" Uh, free upgrade?
That's such the wrong attitude. You're being paid for results. Who cares how you get them. If it's 30 hours per week so be it
"Dumb down that deck a little bit. Everyone will know xyz (main client) didn't put that together" when fixing client deck for a leadership meeting... 😂
Walking in with starbucks...because not everyone can afford sbux everyday and clients may feel jealous or that you are spending their money
A couple more I've seen people chastised for:
-buying branded bottled water instead of generic
-wearing a sweater without a dress shirt underneath (by a SM wearing a suit with a striped polo shirt!)
I would have pushed them back but I couldnt see shit so I was worried I'd push the wrong person. And my client has pretty big muscles because they interned as a janitor at a muscle gym in junior high and worked out with all the pros for 50% off membership.
And I forgot to add, I'm a partner now, he's not ;)
