Silly question: When is the second trimester?

If truly 40/3 I would think 13w2d, but sources say 12, 13, and 14. You hear 12 weeks referred to as a milestone, but is that accurate?

Fun fact: trimesters were invented for law-making purposes.

Interesting! Learn something new every day

I’ve always considered week 12 to be the last week of the first trimester (milestone) and week 13 to be the first of the second. Does it really matter though? There’s no formal change to anything between any of these weeks.

like

As you should congrats! Even week 14 “naval orange” and week 15 “pear” ☺️

funny

I think 12 is considered a milestone because of the NT scan.

like

Oh that makes sense

M1: I was gunna comment kinda like yours and ask
OP “really why does it matter as long as you know when the kid is coming” you don’t really need a label :)
Ps my wife and I are nearing that stage too!

Fair question, it's really due to going through IVF and has been such a struggle to get to this point. Since miscarriage rates drop drastically after the first trimester, I feel like I'll finally be able to start celebrating being pregnant, whereas I've been guarding my heart up to this point.

Glad we're getting so close!

like

The thing I’ve learned is that pregnancy month/trimester timing makes absolutely no sense and despite being something that *is* calculateable, no one agrees on it 🤣

According to the American heart association

An average of 150,000 deaths from heart disease each year are under the age of 65. Well below the normal life expectancy of 77.5 years

I am in a self-contained cross category room. Grades 2-4. We have kiddos who need to be placed in therapeutic schools but those schools are understaffed due to Covid — their staff found other jobs during the shutdown—and so can’t take them. Several of our kids are huge. I have been slammed hard on the back, chased around the room to hit me, kicked, bitten, clawed, hair pulled. Is anyone else experiencing heightened behaviors?

Lately been wondering if my meds are even working anymore… had to skip today’s dose (long story not worth telling) and, yeah, can now confirm my meds are working.

When I ask my manager for advice about how to do something, he usually just tells me I'll "figure it out yourself." But when it comes down to it, he doesn't help me at all by doing that—he just makes me feel like an idiot. Hi everyone,
So I had my NIPT and NT scans last week and I’ve been getting pieces of the results back from my doctor in the patient portal. All seems okay but I’m a bit confused. Does anyone know if FirstScreen is the same thing as NIPT? I was under the impression that NIPT was in 90th percent of certainty for Down syndrome but the result we got, labeled FirstScreen indicate 83% certainty so I’m confused if there are more results coming? I messaged the doctor but haven’t heard back yet.
