Since 2017 I had some extra money that I was just fooling around in the stock market every month (no options just buying and holding). It was just for fun, but now it’s grown to a size where I’m not comfortable with continuing to put money in without knowing 100% what I’m doing. Are there resources to measure risk of my portfolio?

A good financial advisor. They will have tools like Aladdin that are built to breakdown risk in a portfolio. Outside of becoming better educated in investing and risk, I don’t know of any tools that are available directly to consumers that do a good job of this.

Thanks for the advice. Did some google of Aladdin and it does look like it could work. I’ve never worked with a financial advisor before - I’m assuming I have to pay them some sort of fee?

Personalcapital has a free portfolio analyzer that will plot you on the risk-reward efficiency frontier, show over exposure to certain types of assets, etc.

Honestly as long as you have SP500 and maybe an international ETF, you should be fine.

Thanks. Been playing with Personal Capital today. Seems pretty interesting so far thanks! I have been doing all individual stock holdings in the S&P500 - so I’m not too worried, but still feel exposed from my lack of knowledge sometimes.

Is it okay that I’ve been a slow junior as we’re hours away from closing? I’m trying to be proactive and available to cross things off the list but I’m SLOW: takes me long enough that they do it themselves (even though this wasn’t an issue earlier in the deal) and even on quick tasks or emails, they respond to it before I can click send. There’s also so much about closing that I don’t understand and I feel like I’m bothering the higher-ups on the team whenever I ask. *end anxiety post*

I’m notoriously bad with “aesthetic” and design. I’ve hired all my vendors, including lighting and florals, but am now starting to think through what other decorations/logistical items are needed - signage, dessert table trays, guest book, bar top, etc... whenever I google how to start thinking about wedding decorations all the sites are just telling me to rent linens vs buy frames, which... isn’t helpful. How is everyone else here tackling this?!
