How much paternity leave does your firm offer?
Anyone else heard about the mother's day strike wrt Roe being overturned? I want to support but I think I would for sure get fired if I stopped working a whole week out of the blue. It feel like I should do more than pause my shopping and spending for a week

What are your hours now and is it seasonal or all year round?
Generally pubcos have tight reporting requirements, meaning more hours during month/ quarter/ year end, but otherwise can be OK.
Keep in mind most management and above are from B4 so they hold similar mindsets around delivery as at the firm.
A recruiter reached out to me for a senior accountant role in a billion dollar publicly traded company. I am thinking of talking to the recruiter and see where it goes. How busy does it gets for a senior accountant in a large publicly traded company? Is it 9-5 job or do you have to work crazy hours? Lastly, what’s the environment like and is it a good move for my career? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Ultimately it can definitely depend. There are folks that barely scrap 40 where some industry jobs are just as bad as public but without the flexibility. I would just make sure you communicate with the recruiter that the 40 hour range is a non negotiable. Regarding the career move unfortunately that’s only something you can answer. I’m sure you could still climb the ladder but that may or may not require higher hours. Again I’d just ask the management when you are going through your interviews.
Following for ideas as well..
It all depends. I’m not sure what firm you’re with but I feel PA offers a lot of flexibility and variety, especially if you’re looking to continue to grow your career. Industry doesn’t necessarily equate 40 hour weeks, especially the role you mention from the recruiter but you should discuss it as others mentioned. Also not sure if you can communicate with your current company on your needs and if they can’t shift you to less demanding clients? Where I’m at, they tend to work with us to the best extent possible or put a plan in place if that’s what aligns with our goals and personal life. I’m also in outsourcing as well
