Since there isn’t much out there for afternoon tea for the gf with covid, decided to take matters into my own hands over the weekend;
Fig, almond and orange financiers, strawberry tartlets with vanilla bean panna cotta and basil; blueberry, meyer lemon curd, and vanilla bean choux with a lavender flavored croquante

Cool and pretty! What type of tea to pair?

User prefs so I think earl grey and chai; I think the former goes nicely with the strawberry and blueberry desserts with the bergamot, the chai with fig and orange and almond if I had to retroactively assign.

NDAs for Nannies? I was wondering how everyone who is doing some work from home during covid handles in-house caregivers? Obviously we all take all steps to protect confidential information and realistically a caregiver isn't going to be exposed to anything we do, but does anyone require an NDA just to be on the safe side? (I dont have an in home caregiver yet, but just thinking about it.)

Officially scared. I’m triple vaccinated (double Moderna, got booster about 2 months ago) and I’m in my third trimester and due in about 8 weeks. Husband and kids all tested positive for COVID and I’m unable to have them quarantine so I’m a sitting duck. Can anyone point me in the direction of information about risks of Covid for triple vaccinated people in third trimester? Or perhaps provide reassurance?

My parents are visiting this week and mom and I made dinner tonight. Salmon is seasoned with Trader Joe’s ajika (a Georgian spice blend) and we just roasted the broccoli. The standout is the mejadara. It’s spiced rice and lentils with fried onions and is popular throughout the Middle East. We used the recipe from Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi’s cookbook, Jerusalem.

Is carbon steel supposed to look like this? I’ve seasoned, reseasoned, wash with mild soap and water, dry it over the stove, avoid cooking acidic foods in it and it still looks like this. It used to be way blotchy before but it has gotten darker on the bottom and has gradually moved its way up.

I don’t know if I’m doing it right. I’m used to the black patina of cast iron.
