Since we are moving into a recession (99% certain) and I am currently pursuing a career in finance. What happens in IB? Surely all banks still run their IB but what roles are being cut? Do they stop recruiting entirely?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Good evening. I am currently a physical therapist, but burn out is coming on hard. I am thinking of getting out of the profession but do t k ow what I can transfer to woth my knowledge base without a drastic pay cut or have g to start from the bottom and work my way up. I ha e a wife and kid and looking for a little extra inco.e as well as get away from the patient care aspect. Any reccomendations of a career switch? Anyone done it? Need advice: My firm just fired my whole team (said it’s becoming a conflict of interest buyside vs sellside). After the meeting, I was offered to stay at the firm and move to sellside, or I was also offered to follow my MD (who built out this sector) as he starts his own business (non compete waived, clients to be transferred). Interested to hear people’s thoughts on this.

I’m a new analyst at an IB group. I’ve felt that I’ve done well my first month or two and delivered higher quality work, but I feel that lately I’ve been slipping up the past few weeks given the intensity of the deal as well as having multiple peripheral work streams. It also doesn’t help the second year analyst quit so I don’t necessarily have a resource to lean into. (Cont.)
