Out of those, Bay Area for sure, it's beautiful, better work life balance, and larger number of intriguing/innovative people. Make sure your comp is enough.
NY and CHI burns are pretty uninspiring compared to the city proper. Go for SD or Bay Area. LA is just OK. Consider Seattle or Portland OR as well. Second the suggestion to look at Denver, Austin might also be a sleeper candidate.
Women in San Diego have their pick of the litter. Not a lot of projects outside of the 2 large companies and the bio techs
Reverse commute in Chi is worse than regular commute. It will drive you insane
The OC
Come down to the bay and hit me up.
Recently moved from NYC to SF, highly recommend it. Although I do miss my friends.. Everything else is great - much more comfortable living, more space, friendly people, and everyone who lives here tells me the guy/girl ratio is way in a girls's favor.
^SD = San Diego
SoLa = I meant SoFla = South Florida/Miami
C1, and Zika! Miami would've otherwise been a decent fit. Closer to my parents, have friends there, etc.
Yep, D2. Everyone's feedback here is really helpful!!
So umm, other than D1's comment on my future tech startup hubby, what about dating in these places? NYers don't even date ppl in LI-City or Hoboken 😆😆😆
K2, going for the best job opportunities! I'm in Medical Device strategy, so West Coast is also the best for that. Not a ton in the City, other than NJ-burbs.
M1, would love to meet you! I'll create and post a burner email address later.
SD for sure
P4, I'm a bit nerdy and just a little intellectually stuck up 🤓👸🏻
What are some neighborhoods I should price out for the bay area? Company has shuttles and I have a car.
Oh man thats almost an existential question out here, take some time to read up on it and figure what lines up best if you want to do downtown. South of San Francisco is also nice san bruno, milbrae, burlingame not too far and prices easier (if your shuttles reach there). Wouldnt do east bay if possible because bridge traffic isnt cool.
Haha! That sounds like NYC. Your neighborhood says a lot about you 🙂
So you are making the decision based on limited logic...id say go enjoy the housing bubble of CA...
Not sure I understand you, P5. I'm taking finance and roles into consideration, that's just not where I need your all's input. My question was "socially," what do ppl think is the best fit.
Noraa.. Did you get your base pay adjusted for this shift?
OP move to Seattle.
OP: Forget all this moving business : 38 m NYC . Stay here . We have potential to make great things
