Any suggestions on securing an interview with Apple in Austin in a senior quality manager role? I interviewed with them late last year for a role but didn't make it to offer phase. I've been in quality for over 20 years spanning several industries. Just looking to cut thru the applicant pool if anyone can help. Apple
Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.
Help!

Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

If she doesn’t have any on campus editorial work/journalism work she should get that first.
Then I’d say she should take an internship doing research/analysis in something she’s passionate about. Or honestly, even consulting. Something to give her real life experience as well as research/analysis experience.
I’m no expert, but my ex was a journalism major and she did internships in the politics and law fields primarily doing research. Used that to get into journalism
Get her into consulting. Publishing is a dying industry with poor pay. Publishing jobs go to rich white girls with contacts. Writing skills are great for story boarding decks.
Journalism refugee here!
Honestly she should stick to whoever is recruiting on campus. Companies target schools for a reason and are unlikely to venture outside of their targets or expend resources on non-target applicants given the amount of money they throw at OCR
Agree with guidehouse. Also one suggestion: LinkedIn (the company) has an editorial content team run by a guy called Dan Roth, a former journalist, who has a big budget. Ping Dan Roth on LinkedIn. That may be a great internship for her.
Chronicle of Higher Ed. It’s in DC. Excellent benefits (PTO! As an intern!) and it’s paid
If she gets into consulting early, get into OW then partner by 35 followed by C-suite role in industry.
I say this op because I am getting into consulting late, but big4 has opened so many doors for me. Consulting firms also do multiple things, so you develop broad-based skills in tech, data analytics, leadership, sales and story-telling.
PwC also have one week programs, such as “elevate” where interns come in for a week to get exposure to the environment. MBB has similar programs too. If she meets the gpa criteria she can get in.
Learning to code is too much of a cliche. A more intelligent view is to look at functions in tech. Product, software engineering, strategy. Think function.
She’s applied to a bunch of publishing houses, but those internships are few and far between, so wanted to ask the hive mind for any ideas 😊 She’s worked for a DC arts museum and a government arts agency in the past.
Has she tried learning how to code instead? 😝😂
