You have a few options:

1. You can hold firm on $80k and be willing to walk away.

2. You can negotiate a signing bonus or an increase in RSUs or your variable comp/cash bonus

3. You can negotiate increased PTO or other benefits

You can probably do any combination of the above, but know that if you include #1 you may turn them off and will have to be willing to actually walk away in case it doesn’t work out.

I’m really not the best person to comment on that. But cash may be a more sure thing in this environment…

Are u willing to walk away for 5k? Also, that variable pay will be almost cut in half since the year is half done. Maybe you can ask for some sign on that covers the half.

like

no i won’t walk away because the base pay is $14k more than i get now, just trying to get the most i can out of it. but now i do have some solid justification for asking for a sign on, thanks for pointing that out!

Did you give them a range before they offered?

sadly, i honestly don’t remember. our initial talk was over a month ago and I was going through several interview processes at the time, so it’s a jumble in my mind. most of my ranges were $70k - $90k depending on the role.

Thoughts on Workday ERP roles? Worth getting the certification if you are in a different ERP role right now? It seems to the most in demand suite right now.

Hi all,

I'm currently a technology consultant (SAP) at EY GDS. My YOE is 3.5 years (BTech and no MBA). I want to switch to Management Or Business consulting but I don't know where to start.

Besides being involved in projects, I have actively participated in pre-sales demos and practice building activities. I think I'll be better placed at a broader area of work rather than a technology like SAP.

Your comments please!

Thanks!

Is 100k for 10 years of experience (3 at a small company and 7 at a tier 2 firm) in the DC area with a MS and PMP certification seriously underpaid?

Just had a couple weird interviews where I think I answered questions well but didn’t get a ton of feedback. A lot of “sure sure” and move to next questions. My previous calls with the company have been GREAT and they had been super excited about me, so this felt very flat. Anyone else experience anything like this? Feeling deflated.
