Prestige is dead, long live work-life balance and income:effort ratio.

no, but unclear how they compare to the Wach on income:effort ratio. my guess would be life sucks at both so you might as well get the premium comp from W if you can.

I think it’s the end of the road for them, they can’t possibly recover from this

Any tips on delegating the ‘right amount’? I’m being asked to perform acting manager role and now have two levels under me.. and I am having some difficulty gauging how much I should be delegating. I don’t want to overwhelm the ‘acting senior’ staff but also want to delegate enough so that I can cover all my areas.

Whoever said employers don’t care about grades and transcripts after your first job was a liar. Every lateral position that I’ve applied to as a 3rd year has requested transcripts. Why do we lie and tell grads that employers don’t check transcripts when they do. My coworker, a 5th yr, had to submit his transcripts also to lateral job. Side note - it speaks volume when multiple associates are trying to lateral at the same time

A recruiter said : "if you see a job posting you like, let me know and I'll see if I have any connections" ... How do they benefit in this case? Would I have to give them some sort of commission?

For the litigators...do your state courts use electronic filing similar to ECF or do only some counties/parishes use electronic while others are stuck in the olden times. If not, what do you think the refusal to adapt comes from?

Has anyone made the switch from firm life (specifically, ID) to a government role and regretted it? It’ll be less pay, but better benefits, more fulfillment, and obviously no billable hours which sounds amazing right now.. I’m just really nervous that I’ll miss the paychecks!
