Hyaluronic acid face serum use while your face is damp because it locks in moisture. Use retinol at night while your skin is dry but don’t use any other active on the same night (benzoyl, vitamin c, any other exfoliant) or you’ll start feeling the burn. Sometimes retinol makes it worse before it gets better. If you start breaking out just give it some time but if you feel like you’re having an adverse reaction stop taking it. Wear sunscreen everyday and try to reapply every two hours. I find that Asian sunscreens are better at having no white cast and not burning your eyes.
You should check out skin cycling:
Night 1: cleanse> exfoliant w tonor > moisturizer
Night 2: cleanse > retinol > moisturizer
Night 3: cleanser > HA serum > moisturizer
Night 4: cleanser > HA serum > moisturizer
Repeat!
Day: clean with water (no cleanser) > moisturizer > sunscreen
Great - Paula’s choice is what I have. Thanks for the info
Take this with a grain of salt because I’m not sure your skin type!
Every morning:
Cleanse
Vitamin C
Moisturizer
Sun screen
4 nights per week:
Cleanse
HA Serum
Moisturizer
Retinol (on top of moisturizer to start so your skin doesn’t freak as much)
3 nights per week:
Cleanse
Liquid exfoliant
HA serum
Moisturizer
Hope this helps!
True- I would amend this to be retinol 2-3 times a week and exfoliant 1-2 times per week then all other nights just HA and moisturizer
Only use retinol at night and start with twice a week. Very small amount. Wait about 10 minutes for retinol to absorb and then apply your night cream.
I don’t use the other two so 🤷🏻♀️
