I’m going to start doing read alouds on Zoom for the students. Any recommendations for upper elemetary? Maybe something uplifting to help battle the anxiety they might be feeling?

Have any of your held a zoom meeting or session with parents? My experiences so far have shown me the importance of computer literacy and i think parents need a training session.

I’ve been out of touch with the current ad world for so long, I don’t know which NY agencies are considered the most creative. Of course, I realize answers will be subjective. Still it will be helpful to have a place to start. Sorry if I’m limiting my search for NY agencies. I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

I know everyone says the best thing for your WLB is to completely remove yourself from work once the day is over, but I’m confused as to how people actually manage to do that. It’s a force of habit for me to refresh my inbox and slack even if I have notifications turned off. If I’m in the middle of working on a big project, it’s hard to just stop thinking about it.

I met someone through a slack group on a job posting. We chatted, shared info and this person offered to be a referral on the posting on his team. I’ve gone through 4 loops of interviews with the team panel interview including this person. I felt each loop has gone great. It’s been over a week since my final interview an I haven’t gotten a response from the recruiter, who’s generally been pretty responsive. What are is everyone’s thought on reaching out to the job referrer for an update?

The partner I work with wants me to dictate everything for the secretary to type. I feel that I am better at typing and more productive typing my work out. I have never dictated anything in my life and don’t think I would be very efficient or effective at it, I also hate the sound of my own voice. He keeps trying to push me into dictating but I want to type my stuff out, I do not think I am that slow at typing my work etc and I am getting assigned tasks done so I do not see a difference.

My s.o. is hot and cold. Very affectionate then he is unhappy. He says that the unhappiness is stemming from our relationship, but we don’t argue unless he’s in a bad mood. And we don’t even argue, he just withdraws. Then he comes back and says he was upset because there are qualities I don’t have that he wishes I did. For ex.: I’m not social enough, convos on topics of interest to him fizzle, he doesn’t know what he comes away learning from me. But then he goes back to being in love with me.

What is your take on consultants being stuck on long projects? It’s like pulling teeth trying to roll off of some accounts. We never get a say in our extension. Will leadership address this?
