Anyone freelance on the side of their full-time job? (Remote, obviously. Is this a thing?)
I just passed my last exam and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Here’s some motivation for all those who are studying to keep going! You don’t have to be the smartest, just dedicated and determined and you will pass. I passed all four exams while working full-time remotely with a toddler attached to me like glue. A few sacrifices were made, but I knew it’d pay off in the long run
Do you ever start to feel like us as black people have to work so much harder and prove ourselves so much more than others in this job field ?
How did you find your voice with your in laws? We try as hard as possible to maintain a little distance between us and them this past year because of covid and they weren’t taking it seriously. Now in a month we will be all be fully vaccinated and will start to mingle more again and my anxiety is through the roof.

Is it awkward to bring up the possibility of annual merit raise (usually done at end of year) with my boss now? It seems the job market is cooling a bit and I might lose some leverage if I wait longer to bring this up, in case the economy turns for the worse. But it being June now just makes timing a bit awkward and worried it might come off negatively/too self serving
Any ladies rocking this? Or something similar?
EYP Fish - the sign on bonus on my TSE offer has clawback term of 2 years, but there’s no vesting period at all (e.g. 50% vested after the first year). Is this normal? Can I negotiate to add a vesting term?

Hey Jr Art Directors in Salt Lake City I saw this in my LinkedIn feed and thought I would share. Good luck! 🍀
Hey everyone, I have a situation, I work in the cosmetics industry as a formulation chemist and I’m currently getting paid 67k with 3 years of entry level experience. A recruiter just contacted me saying he could sign me up for a position as a chem Specialty Chemicals Industry at 80k so I would have to learn different material and I would probably start as the lowest level of the company.
Now my concern is that with all the hiring freezes/layoffs going on, I might get screwed… what should I do?

Question about KPMG and PWC interview processes:
It seems like the technical interview is usually scheduled first. Then a few days later the culture fit and behavioral.
Does how you do on the technical interview determine if you move forward? OR.. if you only do "okay" in the technical interview, does the process stop there? Or is the sum of all 3 interview parts looked at together and then an offer decision is made?
Curious, how do you folks structure your job hunt? E.g. Wk 1-4 interview prep, wk 5-8 networking, wk 9-12 apply to jobs? (Cont’d)

Can I get some advice from the “been there done that” OGs? Is leaving consulting just before 2YOE and promo to industry (lower prestige) or another consulting firm (boutiques of lower prestige) advisable for long term career or is it too soon? Have several opportunities at $110-120k and I make 80k now expecting around 90k at promo. Thanks!
Took a base pay cut early in my career to take on a very different role that I was excited about. I was extremely close to turning it down because I was worried about what others would think with me going backwards in salary vs the norm in consulting with exit ops. However since I’ve started, I enjoy my day to day 10x more than I used to, the people I work with are genuinely excited about what they do, and the RSUs more than made up for my pay cut. Sometimes it’s worth taking the leap of faith!
Could anyone help with examples of resume templates for consultants? Want to update mine but not sure how to elaborate on consulting projects and still keep resume to one page.
