I was told that I was the chosen candidate for a new role that I applied for which will be promotion, I just recently received my offer and was surprised and decided to start negotiating. My boss immediately said that this is offer, either take it or lose it and no negotiating, and was only given a day to decide whether I want it or not, so he repost the position, and was also told that I was going about it the wrong way for trying to negotiate, Is this wrong of me to negotiate?

The most harmful example I came across was bias in ML for the criminal justice system.

I have been interviewing with multiple companies for multiple months to finally receive an offer for a temp to perm role. I am interviewing with another company that is a permanent position, but won't hear back until sometime next week. Landlord advice - my absentee landlady lives in Russia and is refusing to pay for emergency plumbing that I needed as my kitchen floor was flooded with gunk from the pipes (blockage in the pipes). I moved into the place ~6mo ago and the blockage was most likely due to issues preceding my stay here. The contract states that the landlord is responsible for emergency repairs - but she's just flat out refusing. What recourses do I have in this situation?
