Rising Star
Depends what I want. Accenture for more travel, brand recognition, and tech heavy work. Probably better pay/exit ops. Slalom for no travel, ok pay, and good culture that doesn't kill your motivation. Since it's consultant level, I'd probably choose accenture as Slalom is better for experienced consultants to exit to after they burn out.
Brand recognition is a lie when it comes to tech. Go where you will get the most hands-on experience. Since Slalom is smaller and still growing, I would assume you can more easily get that experience there while Accenture might box you into a specific need and restrict responsibilities. I exited to tech and we tend to hire more and more folks from slalom. Their modern culture of data offering is well known and valued.
I'm biased, obviously, but have worked for both. Accenture is a 500,000 person company. Before you take an offer there, try and get an understanding of who you're working for, who's responsible for your growth, who's looking out for you. There are Amazing people at Accenture, but also a lot of places to get lost or stuck. Slalom is bigger than it used to be - close to 10k people, I think - but can answer all those questions easily due to the focus on a local model. In my experience Slalom is a better fit for people with more experience - or super extroverted go-getters, while Accenture has much better training for less experienced people. In both cases, it matters a lot more who you work with than what logo is in your backpack.
Accenture is 65k in NA
Accenture. No brainer. Brand & opportunity.
Accenture. No one knows Slalom outside this app

True, but the tech Slalom works with is in very high demand.... lots of exits if you are working on those areas. If you are doing PMO at Slalom, it’s a complete dead end...
Accenture. Learn consulting first, then come to Slalom once you’ve had your fill with ACN.

Doesn’t slalom have a no travel model? Is that important to you?

Slalom tech practices can be a good place to develop app dev capabilities w/ modern tech. For more “management consulting” experience Accenture all day.. as there is training and much more structure in place.
Gotta be Accenture
Worked at both - analyst at Acn and now consultant at S. At junior levels at Acn you’re just a pair of hands. No say in anything, hard to get real leadership skills. Slalom gives a lot more flexibility and allows for more growth/calling the shots on projects/freedom to make decisions in my personal experience.
Slalom - better work life balance, for sure
