Unemployment sounds like a better third option than those firms.
Avanade has become the afterthought of Accenture. Limited investment or independent growth, many are continuing to hit the market.
I work at Slalom. Purely technical and love the work. Feel free to dm, if you have questions.
Hands done Avanade. Speak from my personal experience. You get better and bigger clients (backing of Accenture), work with some very intelligent people and work on implementing bleeding edge tech (they favor clients who go the latest technology). Slalom doesn't really have the infrastructure, offshore model or the $$$ to compare.
I'm approaching my 10 year anniversary at Avanade and still loving it.
From a technology perspective, if you want to specialize in the Microsoft stack, then Avanade - otherwise, Slalom
For growth opportunities, I’d go with Avanade since Slalom is a flat org

Actually Slalom added a bunch of levels recently
Worked at Avanade for many years. Slalom is better if you need work life balance. Really Avanade is good too unless you get on an Accenture project which is just hell. When at Avanade, I was regularly called on Saturdays to fix someone issues (almost always an Accenture consultant, offshore engineer, or leader snafu) ....that has never happened at Slalom. My phone rarely rings after 5pm
What are the negatives about Slalom?
They seem to get good reviews
Slalom used to innovate... they now race to the bottom of rates with a lot of staff augmentation. Great to get your tech chops, but limited strategic or transforming work.
Definitely Slalom- harder to get into than.. well..
Avanade is pretty political from what I understand
I was working 2 years for avanade, it’s the biggest indirect Partner from Microsoft and the focus is Microsoft solutions! It’s not like big 4 high level stuff - it’s technical orientation.

If just looking to collect a check for a few yrs, or not travel then Slalom. If you’re senior and looking to possibly move up, Avanade.
Slalom and what !?
What’s the difference between Avanade and Accenture’s cloud arm?
Lower salaries
Avanade
Avanade is Microsoft technology. Accenture isn’t specific to a vendor.
Although we work on non-Microsoft technology via the Accenture projects
Neither - one is too narrow and the other is a glorified body shop . Good biz to own but not to be in unless you want to work contractor style
Big 4 to Avanade with 50% raise is it worth it?
Azure DevOps, Chicago, one level up
