SC 2 I feel like it is very difficult to get in touch with your talent recruiters. They all just ghost. Any advice on it?

@OP wanted to give a good response but didn't have time to do it then. I'll give it a go in a little bit

My experience with Slalom is that they get all of the pretentious cast aways from other larger firms. Less so the people who really value “work closer to home” that they advertise.

smart

I'm curious about SF, specifically technology related.

OP, I am in the tech practice at Slalom so my exp would be different. There are key Value props that Slalom has to potential employees that they make pretty clear. Increased work life balance by not needing to travel 100%, opportunity to remain client serving with F500 clients, and have a strong internal talent pool to support your client service (many folks are ex Big 4 / ACN).

That being said, there are differences. Slalom is heavy at the 'Consultant' level. Folks from anywhere from 2-15 years experience fall into the Consultant title for us. A path to moving up is relatively undefined. You have people who want to stay as consultants and focus on delivery and for them Slalom works as there is no up or out culture. But if you want a clearly defined path and trajectory from consultant to leadership the path is a little more undefined. My exp so far

Curious as well

I'll reply later if nobody else has by then 😥

@slalom1 why not now? :(

What domain are you interested in OP? And what city? Slalom is pretty decentralized by city so each office has kind of its own culture I'd say, and some domains are stronger in certain cities than other. That being said, some commonality is: no or very low travel, no up or out model (can stay at consultant level for multiple years beyond typical B4 timeframes, strong client base among the F500, and laid back culture but also high quality work / colleagues

And that they are only a small step above firms like RCG, who masquerade as a consulting company but hire for the roles at time of said role.

@AC3 as other posted, this is very dependent on the city. What city are you looking at? There was a post on the slalom bowl before about top and bottom 3 cities. I can share any thoughts people had about your city.

Tbh, I was hired for my role around the time of my role. I came in at the top of my pay band despite little experience, my role on my project is as an SME for my skillset. I love that my workload is so low and my wl balance is amazing. My city was actually named as one of the worst cities to work for slalom in, but that's been changing recently with new management.

Having worked on an accenture project before and based on my own experiences, I would say accenture is very orderly vs slalom is relatively chaotic. Big ocean vs small pond. You have the potential to be a very big fish, but the ecosystem is more affected by whatever is happening in the market. If there's a boom, more fat trickles down the ladder than at accenture. If there's a bust, not as many life boats.... But again this is dependent on city.

@SC2 I’m interested in strategy work in tier 1 cities like NYC or SF
