What’s the parental leave policy at your firm? Maternity vs paternity? Is two weeks paternity leave pretty standard?
Small rant with a small foreword that I’m so thankful that men get paternity leave. I really am. It’s just really frustrating to see the 6th person in the last 3 months come back from their leave with new certifications. It makes me feel like while I’m out on maternity leave and simply healing and feeding my baby, I’m going to be behind and asked why I didn’t gain new skills while out. I guess life isn’t fair and hope people know not to expect that from me. 😒
First class: great. Baby next to me in first class: not great. Baby next to me in first class spills OJ on me: super duper not great
Anybody had success with Mosie baby ? Saw some good reviews on the website but looking for real feedback

How many months does your firm give you for maternity/paternity leave and how much do you get a month for childcare reimbursement?
A few years ago I was living with my boyfriend in nyc in a cute little walk up and one bedroom. We got married and then had a baby, along with pets. cute walk up has turned in to a nightmare —we are constantly on top of each since there isn’t much space and I hate to lug the baby up/down the stairs when we go for a walk. Also stroller has to be dragged to the first floor. We wanted to move out of New York once we find job prospects but I don’t think I can tough it out anymore after one year.
My 63 year old immigrant father has an immunology phd, background in medical research, and currently works as a nurse. Had some experience with matlab over a decade ago and has extensive medical knowledge but English is not his first language. What are his chances of finding employment as an analyst or a field outside of direct medical work? Pls no mean responses. But honest truth or success stories are appreciated.
Not an American so a little confused by health insurance here. If I got a plan that says it'll cover 80% of a procedure, but there's $1000 deductible, does the 80% coverage not kick in until (cont.)

Hi, I’m currently on parental leave and interested in doing some minor side huddling like case coaching or college essay editing etc. Something consultants can do well and easily. Are there known websites/ forums to offer these services and get connected to clients?
Would you nicely say something to the little kid continuously kicking your seat on a flight or keep quiet?
Is there any COVID related help we get from organisation in terms of leaves, doctors on call or treatment reimbursement .
Is Accenture offering reimbursement for home office equipment? My nephew is starting work for them in a week and if they aren't helping with his wfh setup, I'll get him a second monitor as a gift. Thank you!
I work with small business retirement plans and the profitability of different companies is amazing to me. I have a small dog food company and a local flower shop, each with 2 owners, who max out their 401k every year for both owners, plus 25% profit share. Who knew there was that much money there?
Looking for baby-led weaning book / resource recommendations. Baby only 3 months but would like to inform myself! Thanks in advance!
My mom has flown from Taiwan to the US once in her life: for my graduation. I’m now pregnant and would like to upgrade my moms flight when she comes to the US for my baby’s birth. What are some ways I can upgrade her flight for a steal? I’m United silver status so would prefer United, but open to other airlines. Currently not enough points so what’s the best way? Is it to purchase points (United? Chase?)? I’m clueless at this and would appreciate any help, thanks!
So my husband and I decided to go back to our original plan and starting to try for a baby next month. My daughter will be 18 months old and it’s been a struggle with work and her in general with covid and no daycare or outside help. I’m down to part time hours already with the intention of her hopefully being able to go to daycare in the summer or fall. I really want to complete my family but worry about not having help with two kids. Plus I dk how long it could take to get pregnant this time
Did anyone here have a kid before, during, or after an MBA? I’m in banking and am considering doing an MBA in 3 years when i’m 27. My biggest concern with that plan is that i’ll just be starting off a new post-MBA career in the age area where I would like to start a family (~29). I definitely know I want to have at least 1 kid before 30 but am conflicted if pursuing an MBA will upheave those plans or if I’ll have to choose between career ambition and family

Australia’s health department stated borders will most likely not open to international travelers at all this year and would most likely still require 2 weeks quarantine when they do next year. This was my one vacation I had planned right when covid hit and I was really hoping they’d open with vaccines so I could go in October, even March next year but even that seems an unlikely time to have a normal trip 🥺 i just really miss international travel
Has anyone crossed the border (via car) into Italy recently? I know I need a covid test, I’m just wondering how this is actually… enforced. Are there border controls? Or is it more like random testing? Would be driving in from Austria for reference.
Does your firm reduce your yearly billable requirement after taking parental leave or do something else?
What are things you expect out of your project manager? Anything they do that goes beyond their role in your opinion?
I recently applied to an ESG/Public Affairs role at KKR. What are thought on reaching out to an MD/Director on LinkedIn to learn about their ESG efforts and try to get a referral? I’m terrible with networking and can’t decide if this is too aggressive. I’m just convinced online application just float off into the ether
The WH COVID task force daily briefings have become like that daily meeting which some annoying clients want. There’s nothing new that you have to say and hope that the client cancels.
Hey all! What are the most insightful questions to ask employees in order to get quality feedback about their experience working for the company/their satisfaction, etc.?
Just signed an offer with a mid-tier coming from B4. About to put in my 2 weeks, but will they ask me to leave immediately because I’m headed to another public accounting firm?
Does everyone have an exit for Accounting? I’ve been searching for industry opportunities but nothing really stands out. I have previous GL Accounting prior to risk so I have a decent pool of options to choose from. I like the work I do in public minus the billable work and the crazy over time.
Hi moms .. has anyone spent your Mat leave alone with your new born ? SO doesn’t have much leave and I am worried whether it will be too much to be alone with a baby all day and I am a FTM to be .
Hi, I have 2 United club passes expiring on the 24th that I won't get to use. DM me if you would like and I'll screenshot them to you.
What is the best headset to use with my laptop (not Mac) to take zoom or teams calls? Or do most of you just use the speaker mode?
Morning 🐟. I want my next car to be electric, but the price tag of a Model Y or Rivian is just nuts. I need the all wheel Model Y because I live in the mountains. It seems like a Tesla is really the only option because they are tried and true, so to speak. Tesla owners, how have y’all justified the expense?
