This was the single hardest thing for me with my first since I did NOT get a good sleeper. You have alllll my sympathy with this because sleep deprivation is literal torture. The good news is that it’s temporary.
Only thing that worked for me and my husband was when I started pumping, we took shifts - one of us went to bed early around 8 or 9 ish and would sleep while the other was on deck for baby feeds/changes,etc. until we tapped out around the 2am. Then, we’d swap. Each of us getting a solid 4 hours of sleep at least made us functional.
Many babies start getting longer stretches around 4 months, so that helps. Just know it isn’t forever - and good luck!!
I have zero babies but I know the science suggests that 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep is infinitely better than a longer stretch of interrupted sleep. My wife and I are baby planning now and have agreed to this approach as she’s a morning person and I’m a night person. Hopefully we can be functional humans should we be lucky enough to have this problem for ourselves.

We also did shifts: one person had any wake ups 10-2, other had 2-6. I’d typically take 10-2 since im a night owl and he would do 2-6 since he get up at 6 anyway.
This way each person was guaranteed a decent slug of sleep. And knowing you are not on duty makes sleeping easier.
Also, those first few months we got a night nurse on Wednesday nights. Best money ever spent.
