Hi fishes. Have an offer from Protiviti india and one of the clauses was we can't deny to travel. It also came up 2-3 times during discussions but the HR said they had many offshore roles too after I said am not looking to travel in the near future. Just wanted to check if that's just a routine clause or if anyone had issues reg this Protiviti India

Y’all with Outlook - Calibri size 11 or 12?
OP: Your range is accurate. Hope you can pay on the higher end, your people will be happier and more motivated. Small shop, sounds like you are thoughtful about the whole thing, the fact you are even asking.
AA1 agree, but sadly that doesn’t stop firms from underpaying. Whether their associates can actually live is not always a criteria in those annual meetings…
I’m at 150 in NorCal, 2nd year
For SoCal anything less than 90-100K for a first year is not enough.
For PI work? It’s 90k
What’s your practice area(s)?
As to the poster above who said PI work is going about $90k. I do insurance bad faith and some PI work and am making $150k base salary as a 2nd year. What you pay will determine how qualified your candidates are and how likely it is that they stay long term.
It’s a general practice but mainly business lit, family law and estate planning. We have no billables since its just my partner and me- we don’t care about that we care about good work. We don’t work past 6, occasionally some weekends if we have a trial coming up. We don’t work between Christmas and New Years. Realistically our budget is $100k tops but as the firm grows we can offer more. And we’re open to paying bonuses and origination fees. I thought this was fair considering I’ve seen propel hate billables and on Indeed I see billables of 1800+ for almost the same pay, which sounds horrible to me
Right which we’re open to salary increases as we continue to grow. We can bring in clients.
75k minimum in riverside and Bernardino. 85k in Los Angeles. 90k for 3 plus years experience
I guess your in a very large law firm
San Diego and orange county is 80 to 85
Actually it was so miserable I left after 6 months. I was working 2200+hrs and every weekend. Main partner was insufferable.
Large firms in Personal injury and insurance defense now seem to start at 100 to 110k in Los Angeles (not big law )
Sounds like you know what you can pay and this is a great potential role for the right candidate (assuming you can also commit to mentoring a young attorney which is so important). Showing the cost to firm of insurance and any other fringe benefit (retirement contributions, paid phone, for example) as part of comp presentation is useful.
Good idea! Thanks!
