Not at all. We are in unprecedented times. Why should you have to risk your life? It’s a fact that numbers are going up. It’s a fact that we should be worried. It’s a fact that you did the right thing.

I agree with the previous comment. Not wrong at all and nothing to be sorry about. Given the way things have been going and are still going, having an in-person interview be presented as the only option — especially when comfort levels and safety precautions vary among people, Counties, etc. — would make me feel uncomfortable, too.

You weren’t “wrong” and neither was the firm. It’s okay for you to have concerns based on the information you have and it’s okay for the firm to want to meet someone before they hire. Frankly, this doesn’t sound like a good fit from the start.

like

I would not hire someone I have not met.

There are lots of ways to “meet” that don’t necessitate F2F. I don’t hire firms that can’t adapt.

For me, red flags for you. The firm is open and not working remotely. Lawyers can do their jobs from a computer anywhere right now. Also, firm failed to explain their safety precautions or to tell you that you had to wear a mask. I know some firms are doing zoom interviews and then if that goes well, they will want to do in person. This sounds like the first interview....if a firm is not taking any precautions right now either with remote work or safety precautions, they show they dont care about their workers or clients and are not considering the liability associated with an employee contracting covid on the job.

I also offered to set up zoom or other type of virtual meeting but that didn't go anywhere.

Best consulting firms for healthcare providers?

22, healthy, single, M. Should I really max my HSA? I completely understand the triple tax savings but my thought process is I don’t think I’ll have a large med expense for a while. I know, I know, I know anything could happen but the likelihood is pretty low rn and I don’t want to lock this money up for solely health costs when I rather be saving for a house down payment or continued education. I still plan to contribute to it, but should I really max it out at my age??

About to get an offer to move to a health agency. Anyone else make that move? How was it? I’ve lost major interest in the hustle glorified at traditional agencies, and have a fam so need better WLB. Realizing regular agencies aren’t made to work around family life…more like the other way around. Even when setting boundaries you get comments and pressure…working til midnight every night to “make up” for having to log off between 6 and 9 every night isn’t a good balance for me.
