I am a Database developer with 10 years of experience in MSBI (SSIS, SSRS) and PL/SQL / T-SQL development. I wish to switch to Data Science. Currently, I am enrolled in GTx's MicroMaster's program and am thoroughly enjoying it. However, my current project doesn't allow hands-on experience of the concepts learned. Is there anyone here in the same boat? If so, how are you getting hands-on practice real-world projects (not kaggle) and how do you get the ML model evaluated?

In the process of being promoted @B4 but I don’t like the people I work for and I’m on the project from hell. The promo has taken so long that I’ve looked elsewhere despite it being my 2nd promo in 3 years. I haven’t had much traction until this past week where I was approached by 4 recruiters with really compelling roles (including FAANG). As a non-managerial staff person who works directly with clients, what can/should I do when a client makes crude (ableist or sexual) comments? Renter tip: if you landlord/management company won’t fix things fast enough, threaten to file a violation with the DCRA. The Office of the Tenant Advocate told me to do this and my issue was fixed that day, after the company had been dragging their feet for months on it. Advice for someone 3-5 yrs into consulting, who loves the client element and the type of work... but is starting to feel slowdown in growth and not interested in subject area? I feel like the firm doesn’t value me (rated above avg. but not too), not earning as much as classmates now in other firms that are doing ok, and my mentor leaders want to pull me deeper into the work they do... do I just go with it, do I switch firms, do I try something different?
