I am a skilled nursing facility biller and collector for Medicare & Insurance, my job can absolutely be remote but the company I work for refuses to allow employees to work remotely. I’ve been with this company for 10 years and am looking elsewhere to find the same position but remote so I can move out of state. Noticing that other companies don’t pay billers well, making me feel stuck. This job is a lot harder than people realize and feeling like I already don’t get paid enough. Any advice?

I interviewed for a job at a new company, and the role would be a huge pivot for me. When asked, I gave the absolute minimum I would be willing to accept (my current salary) since I have no experience in the area. The company came back and offered an interview for a different role, much closer to the job I currently do. Is there any way to salvage the salary negotiation if I’ve already given them a low number for the original job I applied for? I’d like to negotiate a raise if I’m not pivoting

My client’s site got hacked yesterday. I didn’t see any actual signs of impending attack. But knowing how little we do for cyber security when building a site, I knew we must have been vulnerable in some way. I’ve tried pushing for more cybersecurity measures in the last year, but being a Jr, I don’t know a lot about it. My manager had brushed it off as something that would be nice to look into if [insert excuses not to here]. Can’t push it off any longer. I’m afraid heads are gonna roll.Advice?

So I have an idea focusing on LGBTQ healthcare which fits perfectly into the new platform of my client. It could genuinely do a lot of good for some of our most marginalized, except the client background with the community is *less than glowing*. I’m confident the concept is stellar, but am finding I’m nervous to even bring it up because of my client’s history. Thoughts?

When can you be sure that you’re good to go in terms of the new job? I have my independence check finished and laptop shipped. Background check is the only thing missing - would it be a good time for me to put in my 2 weeks? I’m just nervous about putting in my two weeks prematurely in case the new job decides to renege the offer for whatever reason (happened to me before).

I’m not usually a whiskey drinker but drank an entire bottle on Tuesday in one sitting. It was singleton 12 year lucious nectar. Worst hangover of 2020 for me. Still hurting on Thursday. Does whiskey usually cause such violent after effects? Was it the type I drank + volume?
