So a friend of mine invited a teacher to “hang out” with their student/child outside contracted hours on a weekend. Call me crazy but I think that’s a lil out of line. Teachers have lives outside of your children.

Yeah, like the teacher wants to spend their weekend with other people’s children. Nice try.

I know lots of people teachers who attend their students sporting events, birthday parties, are friends w their parents...oh yeah, it happens!

like

I'm not friends with any of my students parents, and I would never hang out 1:1 with a student outside of school, but I have gone to some students sporting events before. I want them to know I care about them and support them, even outside the walls of school. Obviously I would never do it without the parents permission and invitation.

Eek. It’s very out of line.

Well maybe the teacher is new to the area and they were just being friendly?

In a rural area it happens a lot: not for the student, but invites from the parents. Some parents are people you know from living your own life and the two tend to mix. I was way more careful about it during my first 20+ years. Now that I'm closer to retiring, I'm over it. I hang with graduated students and parents. But I think in a city it would be different. I would want a totally separate life because you can. Here, they all know me, so if I want to have fun and not drive half an hour or more, I have to get along.

Hi, I'm undergoing a contested divorce for less than one year of marriage. Counselling didn't help. My spouse is seeking alimony though she is working in a good IT job in India and her father has crores of properties. Indian lawyers are seeking my net assets, tc etc. 1. Can working spouse expect maintenance as per indian law when she is wealthy 2. Do we need to include pf, 401k , ira into these? Since I'm working in US and she is working in India , do they consider PPP while granting alimony?

Hey moms, How do you usually split up work after a baby with partner? We’ll have parent’s support for a good long time and I know that might mean we could slack and then rudely be awakened by reality after they leave in a few months. So want to make sure both husband and I are part of it right from the beginning. E.g: should I be thinking of asking the husband to get into the habit of putting baby to sleep every night? Etc.

Nothing new here I guess, but still putting it out there... I am an educated, smart, successful woman. PwC moms, looking up the paid parental leave policy. It seems like even though I will be eligible for 26 weeks of leave, only 8 of these will be paid. Is that right, looking for guidance here.

I need advice, has anyone been in a similar sit? Met a guy on Bumble in March. He had gotten out of a 4 year relationship in December. We dated for 2 ish weeks, on date 3 we made out and touched (no sex but we both came). After the date he tells me he needs time to himself, his mind is all over the place. We’re May and he reached back out (to congratulate me for my sisters baby). Said he’s in a much better place mentally, wants to meet up. CONTd in comments
