You can’t have a model for something unless you’ve established and overall reasonable goal. Is the goal here 0 new cases? What happened to “making sure the hospitals aren’t overwhelmed” as the goal. We have treatments available, so I don’t know what value is provided in tracking case numbers.

Im glad everyone else here also saw how glaringly infantile this anslysis is. Doesn't know statistics and thinks a graph is proof. Soon, our actual scientists will be put in jail just like Galileo.


In what was are these uninformed analyses?

Also basing the effectiveness in of the Public health efforts on one location is suspect. Most shutdowns were not that effective. Furthermore, with the vaccines, it’s not a health crisis if most people are vaccinated since the symptoms become so mild. Covid is not going away, we just need the symptoms not be severe enough to choke up our hospitals.


If those changes are not feasible when they are the most necessary, then they will never be feasible. If people dont see the need for m4a in a global pandemic, when? Stricter shutdown would mean its also over quicker. Instead of the way it was done here, half assed and prolonged. And the whole remove mandates and open up only to reinstate them and lock down again wears down. I still wear my mask but I am honestly tired of it. And yet it becomes even more necessary as this pandemic is prolonged by people who no longer care. the "new normal" is preferable to the old normal. I no lpnger have to spend 3 hrs commuting. I've had time to do some baking and go to the gym. Most of all, I can wake up later and not like a zombie. Plus I can interact with people on my terms. The possibility now is not just shifting the work mentality to your home, but first, how to be flexible in how we work, and secons, questioning how we work at all, what jobs are actually necessary and how we should be working to ensure workers are given rights and benefits. People forgot this and are now letting companies return to the horrid conditions of yesteryear

Received an invite for a superday very quickly after applying to Goldman. Recruiter never sent me the zoom password and then the password failed to work so everything started a full 15 minutes late. Interviews went great including a “they’ll definitely be a second round” but then I received the rejection email the next day. Do we think the tech issues played into that significantly or just my interview not stacking up to other candidates?

Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent.
