So apparently Clearview is rated really high on Vault this year across multiple categories, even for work life balance (#11). But how come do I hear so many negative reviews about CV on here and Glassdoors?

Because Vault rankings are essentially pay-to-win, don’t matter, and don’t have any basis in reality.

Real ranking is where top MBAs choose to go. Even if Clearview tops the Vault for 5 years in a row, no M7 grad will pick it over tier 1 (MBB) or tier 2 (OW, Kearney, LEK) firms. These rankings are just advertising channels. Don’t take them seriously.

A couple broader things are 1) working to clarify leadership roles to improve review efficiency and foster earlier alignment, 2) a greater focus on to-the-point documents to reduce the burden of client updates and ensure a greater impact Also, a focus on better understanding the burden on teams objectively to both identify as early as possible when individuals or teams are feeling unsustainable as well as help to identify broader drivers of in sustainability to proactively work to address those. I’m not saying the problem is solved or even that these are consistent at this point, but there has been a noticeable shift, from my perspective.

as a PhD, I see top PhD candidates end up in MB (but not the last red B). Bottom of the PhD crop and Masters are more likely to end up in CV and Putnam.

How bad are Joseph A Bank suits? I’m actively losing weight at the moment and will need to start wearing suit to client. The suits I currently own no longer fit after I’ve started losing weight and I don’t anticipate staying my current size for more than maybe the next month. Is a cheap suit like that acceptable assuming it’s the right size and tailored to length etc? If not, what are some recommendations of some bare minimum cost suits that I can not feel bad about losing in a couple months.TIA

I have so many issues with the culture of the consulting world. I don’t think this is specific to my company. Does anyone else feel this way and does it ever go away? 1. Constant use of buzz phrases “loop back to this”, “pick the low having fruit”, “be in lockstep”, etc. without any real substantial value driven. 2. Regular expectation of work/travel after standard work hours and no acknowledgement. 3. Superficial connections based on forced corporate mentorship (due to high turnover)

Subordinates not able the handle stress very well and complains to me all the time. Yes, the client isn't the best but he's not a monster. Additionally, they are not being proactive and making mistakes that's easy to be called out. I don't wanna micromanage but it's starting to affect my mood at work too.
