That’s not an uncommon bump when you consider that the gap between staff1 and senior 1 is usually in the 10-15k range. Downside to taking an industry role after only 6 months is you’ll likely be looking at very low raises going forward
^ that’s exactly right. Most people that leave PA very early have a tougher time moving up in industry. If you come into industry as a manager level you’ll most likely move up faster. Of course there are exceptions but it’s definitely the trend I’ve noticed since leaving big 4
Yea but i’ve also seen the opposite happening and if no company seriously promotes you in 3 years with a CPA. You can look elsewhere.
And by sticking around until manager I now make $20k over my friends that left as associates in base and get a better bonus as most are still senior accountants or maybe accounting managers
