I think better? Almost all the students are showing up, doing their work, participating. There are no distractions, they can't get into trouble, they can't mess around 'in class', not bothering other students... Better than expected but we all rather be at school.
still adjusting but think the anticipation and anxiety were worse than the reality.
I didn’t expect anything so things are just ducky 🤗
Better than expected because there are minimal behavior issues and most students have nothing better to do than study.
I feel like planning and teaching is going okay. But the paperwork and the grading 😩. Every assignment takes so long to open/load then it has to be checked and scored then load the next one. It just takes SOO much longer than before. Not the same as walking around checking notebooks or the same as having TAs check stuff for completions or writings the grades I gave on paper into the paper roster. Progress report grades are due Monday... So I better get it figured out.
I rather be teaching in the physical classroom. I feel most students are not learning what they need to succeed in their future.
Worse. I’m tired of teaching the parents along with the kids. I’ll get half of my class back in person soon so that helps. I just don’t think it’s right that we have to teach in person and online. Two separate lessons and activities. Good luck to any sub that comes in for me.
Things are going better now because many of them have received their tablets from the school district.
