So are we just done with the coronavirus now? All social distancing measures have been abandoned and the economy is reopening. It seems the virus is not nearly as deadly as initially feared (3-5% fatality rate, remember), but we have not removed the risk of overwhelming the healthcare system. What is going on? Are we going to shut everything back down and further decimate the economy if there is a surge of cases?

There’s no way any governor will be able to convince citizens to stay at home when they’ve allowed thousands to protest for 7 days with many not wearing masks and all in close contact with each other. They have been silent about covid19 in an effort to bow down to protestors. No doubt we will have a huge surge when this is over. Not to mention that many covid testing sites are completely shut down because it’s not safe to operate them amidst this mass lawlessness. Covid is over. Back to normal we go.

I respect his habits and I've been pretty cautious (cont. in comments)

Hot take, for those who received a stimulus based on FY19 or FY18 returns why doesn’t the government make people pay it back in the FY20 return if they don’t qualify based on the actual tax year stimulus was for? I understand why they couldn’t wait but IrS knows who received it so it isn’t hard to implement. Could have used the anticipated saving coming back to fund more stimulus for those who truly needed it.
