I recently launched two remote Airbnb rentals (duplex) and booked $15k of stays for March and April. Does anyone have any operational advice? Did not expect it to blow up like it has. As a 28 year old man who wants to settle down soon, which city would you recommend I look into, assuming me and my partner can work from home? Tax code has not caught up with WFH. We can make pre-tax contributions to pay for healthcare, commuting, childcare, etc. With millions now working from home out of necessity vs. convenience, why not a pre-tax home office/WFH account?

Friend is looking to rent/sublet a 1 BR or Studio luxury apartment for July & Aug., around Noho, Soho, Nolita, Greenwich, Union Square, or Flatiron. Needs a doorman, very good WiFi, fully furnished, and cozy wfh set up (ie desk, chair). He’s a wonderful person, works at Google, and is very respectful. Aim is to try NY for a couple months before moving here.

Moving out of my current unit in January so my landlord will be doing showings for my last 2 months there. Is it reasonable to request people to wear shoe covers? I don’t want people walking over my rugs etc. How do you manage showings when you’re WFH?

Apartment lease ending soon. Been living here for a year with my roommate who is a nurse. When my firm started WFH in mid-March, she got transferred to the COVID unit. I was fortunate enough to move home to parents to ride this out and give her space. We get along well as roommates and I’ve been rooting for her everyday.
