“The op ed” creates for the audience the new reality of a shadow government, emblematic of the lawless havoc inside the Executive. The last reality program, Mueller vs The Grapefruit (Orange on the outside, Russian Red within), reached a dead end when he agreed not to put Trump in a position where he might perjure himself. This new program, released as a box set with Bob Woodward’s riveting new novel, gives us a suspenseful new hope at indictment and plenty to talk about until 2024, at which point the news industry will only be able to maintain the current boom by hiring content geniuses who can whip up something really fresh. Or maybe we can just keep talking about Trump even when someone else is in office. Maybe we could keep his Twitter going even after he dies. Anyone who’s ever worked in TMT knows, there can never be enough content content content
Thank you C4!! Start to think the whole site is manned (sorry personad/theyed) by reactionary yahoos. If you have been keeping score, the list of “ah haaaaaa, we’ve got him now” moments is longer than imaginable. And to think it started back in the strategically leaked infamous bus audio and each week thereafter is another Breaking News moment, some true, most completely fabricated or way out of proportion! C1 is going to keep yelling which is great and his/her/they right but I hope lungs can hold out for another SIX years of pure entertainment!! Happy Friday!!!
Unless you are one of the racists who are ok with burning the country down as long as it hurts those other colored folks.
Well I’m not white and think it’s fine. A lot of the issues with him are about what he says but honestly I think most people are better off today in this country vs 4 years ago. Black, white, Asian, and Latino. Unless you’re here illegally which is a whole other story
If you’re rich and white and don’t actually care about the rule of law or the Constitution, then sure I agree it’s fine.
No. Agree he’s a disaster of a human being but think the country is pretty fine
Principal 1 subscribes to the low standards of “hey, Im making more money so most people are fine” 🤦♂️
Go drink some Flint water, RSM1.
Trump’s damage to US soft power, geopolitical influence and internal societal unity will take many years to recover. He’s hastening the decline of US supremacy.
Fearmongering emotionalism
Some regulations are onerous, therefore we must not have any regulations. Genius.
*Beep boop* this post brought to you by ArgumentBot 🤖 . Guaranteed 100% emotion-free.
When I am bored and really want a laugh, I read this Board! The ridiculous, non-sensical, silliness that is reported as fact, all I can do is roar at how divided the world is...and to read this silliness, one man and his racist (blah blah blah) ignorant fans - who represent a solid HALF of this country - are to blame. Everything was fine and this guy got voted in by that stupid half and ruined everything well, except the economy or unemployment or every trade deal he has touched or a ticking time bomb in NK or NATO allies that weren’t contributing their fare share or giving tax money back to those who pay it or or or...a loudmouth, outspoken, unpolished, non-politician who steps on LOTS of toes but truly nothing has happened that deserves all the vitriol that this divided country and a slanted media throw at him. The absolute best part of the entire scenario is that if the Presidential election were held today, he would probably win again. I believe the noisy minority is once again underestimating those who are tired of all the nonsense and think - even with all the noise, this guy is not so bad!
P1 - if you believe that Donald Trump is solely responsible for the economic growth then let me take you to 2007-2008 when Obama inherited the mess that is called economy and turned it around. Trump is just cashing on what Obama put in place.
This over deregulation will bite you in the back later when things like 2007 happen again.
He crossed it long before he was elected. The person he is now is the disgusting person he always was.
The internal divisions have become more stark. It’s ok to spread hatred now. National debt is bad and growing. Impact of tariffs. Large companies spending their tax breaks on stock buyback and other measures instead of investing back in the company.
Pollution standards lowered in the name of deregulation, and the effects of which are to be known soon. Denial of climate change is now official.
And that’s just off the top of my head. Principal 1, while I understand what you’re trying to say, it’s simply not objectively true. We are not “pretty fine”.
Seriously, the way in which Republicans turned the word “regulation” into a pejorative is almost, impressive if I wasn’t so sickened by the outcome. I happen to like clean air, clean water, efficient cars, a safe work environment, accurate and complete financial disclosures, and companies NOT dumping industrial waste everywhere, thank you.
SD1 - wrong again! I am middle America...you think we are stupid and unsophisticated and can’t think beyond our economic status. It’s that mindset that set this whole thing in motion...those idiots will do what we tell them. The voting diner crowd loved this guy for the EXACT reasons the people on this board despise him - not the non-sensical name-calling (racist, dictator loving, immigrant hating, etc) - he speaks his mind and changes it a lot. To answer the question that started this particular string - NO, the whole other half the country (and frankly there is a silent group that tilts the scales in the voting booth) that nod their heads while you yell about how he is an abject failure but they totally disagree with you but are just plain tired of you telling them they are wrong, stupid, racist, xenophobic, and all the other names.
Nope, we can’t agree - but you go on yelling it if it makes you feel better!
Also, odd how the Flint crisis starting in 2014 didn’t lead the thread towards proclaiming that Obama is evil and ruined this country’s hopes of ever having clean water
Oh, and C1...if we are going to throw abject failure around as the measurement...I would gladly hold the last two years up to all eight of our last President. I didn’t hate the guy as you obviously do the current occupant - truth be told, hard to hate the guy because he didn’t DO anything or achieve anything. He was 8 years of “same old same old”. Sorry the current President ran on changing everything and is doing EXACTLY what he promised! Amen! Free time at the airport is awesome! Happy weekend!!
C1: Our favorite RSM right winger would say that your demands smack of emotionalism. How dare you expect clean, safe air and water. Does the nanny state need to do everything for you?
Oh EPA regulations caused the Flint city government to be incompetent? Also that started in 2014 before any changes. As usual weak emotional arguments.
