So. Can we appreciate the Air Suvidha Portal and the relative smoothness of operations as it relates to COVID in India. I think India has handled it better than the US and maybe even the UK in some respects. I feel safer here and I feel that if I did get sick, I’m better off in India than in the UK (where they won’t treat you unless you’re basically dying). Do you agree or nah? Also looking good on the vaccine front / sending it to neighbours for free which makes me feel good

Completely agree. India has handled this really responsibly and well, for the most part.

In India less than 1% of the population does overseas travel.

Almost everyone living in United States will have a family or extended family overseas and international travel is pretty normal here. So it’s apples to oranges comparison, which is not right.

Trump did a terrible job of handling the pandemic, initially he ruled it out as a hoax and it was too late by the time he acted.

In my opinion, Biden’s administration has already started implementing travel restrictions from affected countries and wearing mask a federal mandate. Let’s hope vaccine is available at the earliest for the general population and we all sail this pandemic safe.

1% of Indian population = 12M people though

Yes agreed. Overall the statistics also tend to show the same. Significantly better PCT and CFR rates compared to the western world.

Agreed. My mum and sis caught the virus and the treatment they got was great. Govt was informed and equally involved in their recovery.

The US and UK are the wrong benchmarks for comparison - central leadership in both these countries have been utterly irresponsible and callous in their handling of the situation. With the new US administration things should start to look much better by March. A comparison with other asian countries might be a better one - Korea, Japan etc.

Uncle Joe is already distancing. U turn after taking over.

When I flew back from India to us a couple weeks back there were no checks at all on entry - no details collected for contact tracing. India entry checks were smooth - officials were warm and made the checks easy. Very well organized

I agree to the most part of it. The Covid results verification process at the Delhi Airport was a bit redundant and chaotic, at least on the day I arrived. I felt like same results were checked by more than 5 different officers after I landed the flight. There’s a room for improvement. 🙏

If you upload prior to visit you get pre-approved notice then its straight forward. If not then yes
There are multiple checks → for Gurgaon 3 officers checked - one checked details second for computer entry third to take pics to send to local tehsil. Agree this can definitely be streamlined but it wasn’t a hassle. I was done in 5-7 min

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

My parent is sick with dementia. I can tolerate high level of stress when I'm called names, sent to h... etc.. but I keep everything inside. It's been that way for a long while now. Today my cup of tolerance has overflown when I was giving my parent a bath. I was so angry that I was shaken and I forced my parent to bath... I yelled and said things I would never say otherwise. I know I'm wrong and it's a disease, but I just couldn't help it... now.. the work time comes... I couldn't concentrate... tears just flowing from my eyes. Which I totally deserve. I'm glad I was working from home today. It got to the point that I just don't want to see that anymore... I just don't want to wake up. I just want to escape of my thoughts and my feelings...
