What progress? They only finally addressed it on Friday because of the walkout, and more potential negative media exposure. They don’t really care about the wrongdoings, that’s why guys can go around and joke while it’s still fresh, in front of women, so offensive. The C-Suite is complicit, COO is named all over that lawsuit and did not act, he has been in the presence of accused CCO a number of times where inappropriate comments were made, and says and does nothing, he is one of the CCO’s biggest supporters. CEO was too busy tasting chicken wings after the first article was published, because he and everyone else here is too clueless to understand the repercussions.
Two weeks ago Innocean attorneys file a legal response that the plaintiff doesn’t have a case, and waited too long to file and now an investigation??? Hmmm, what changed besides the Adweek and Agency Spy publications? Nothing. This is a poor attempt at damage control. Positive progress won’t be made here unless these guys are gone and there’s a fresh start. If anything, it will get worse. Talent will leave faster than ever before and that will affect the bottom line, Innocean won’t be able to attract talent, new business will be impossible to attain, I mean what company wants to be associated with this? It’s all about lip service at this point, it has always been at Innocean.
leave = vacation. anything less than firing him and publicly speaking out against him should be seen as inaction.
They announced they were putting springer on leave while they conduct an internal investigation. Just got an invite for another all company meeting for today at 5. Assuming they'll have updates for us then.
Meanwhile there's still plenty on men around the office making light of the situation. Laughing and making comments like "wonder if I'm one of the 100 unnamed John does in the article!" 🙄
@innocean4 couldn’t agree more. Such a disappointment. I can’t believe the entire meeting was about announcing the goals for 3% certification, that doesn’t change predatory behavior, and the two creatives in charge while Springer is gone are two dudes. Why not put a female creative in charge, no female creatives qualified at Innocean? I loved where CEO said he is here to protect the agency, and added that he wanted to protect himself as well, and did he actually laugh when he said that? This is a really bad dream. Nothing will change. And why isn’t the COO talking anymore? Is the SVP of Business Development the official new COO? An all around embarrassment.
All we wanted was to hear from senior mgmt and what was being done. They addressed us on Friday afternoon. We see progress and we felt heard. Protest temporarily delayed.
Yes good on you all for taking action! 🙌
@Innocean 2 at least theyre updating everyone but ugh... those comments from the men at the agency make my blood boil and totally underline the problem. The problem I see with this and other agencies is the "internal investigation" aspect. How the heck can you ensure an unbiased
investigation when HR is almost guaranteed to be complicit in a matter of cultural toxicity?? (Speaking for my own organization, the answer is that they can't be).
So @Innocean 1, what was that progress? Glad to hear they're actually acknowledging it though.
How about that goal of becoming the best place to work?
@senior copywriter 1
Agreed. My guess is they’re not firing him for legal reasons. Firing = admission of guilt = more money they’ll have to pay in court. Seems they are more concerned with $$$ instead of doing the right thing
I see a bunch of Innocean managers signed up on fish bowl the past few days. 🤔
Simply wonder who were invited to the agency walkout..? Many of my female colleagues including myself knew nothing about this walkout until the article went out on Friday..?
Man this is so cliche now
