So EY gives up to 16 weeks parental leave now... If you have a kid at the beginning of busy season do you still get promoted?

Is this maternal or both maternal and paternal ?

like

You get promoted when you're ready, not because of time put in. That said, if you deserve it and you can make a business case for it- yea of course you would get promoted .

like

If you're on the fence, I can't imagine missing a busy season where you can really make a case for promotion through good work will help. The firm will give you the time off, but you can't expect the same results as others who work through the busiest times of the year. Parental leave is not a free pass.

like

Yes

Not planning on it, just curious how it'd work

They give you all these time but nobody uses because people never have time to make babies! 😒😒😒😒

Does having corporate NPS account make any difference? Ultimately we get 50k additional deduction only ,right? So between an employee giving a voluntary contri of 50k to an individual nps account and another whose employer's contri 50k to corporate account will give the same benefits, isn't this understanding correct?

Last year when Covid broke, I received a couple of interview calls but ignored them as I felt the organization kept me at work when other companies cut short their HR staff so I should be with them even if with no appraisal. But now, I was living in the fool's paradise when I am told to leave with no job offers in hand, car and home loan, dependent parents, expecting jobless spouse with a 3-year old kid.

Working at Deloitte soon! I read the benefits but I’m still a student and don’t really understand what benefits are good and just mediocre. Is the benefits and rewards at Deloitte ACTUALLY good? Any tips to maximize on the benefits? Advice for a new grad hire plz 😭

What other solutions/therapies can I use with my kid? Please, any advice is welcome!

Hi everyone! I am working with my HR to improve our maternity/paternity leave policy. Currently I only get 2 weeks fully paid and then an additional 8-12 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). I need some examples of companies with less than 100 employees and what your maternity/paternity policy is. Please include company name! Thanks!!!

Hi Fishes,

I want to set up a small business in Rajasthan (remote area) for my father, I don’t want him to leave home and stay with family.

Can you please give some ideas on what can be setup for consistent long term profit and also setup cost is not that high.
Thanks in advance.

You’re either not valuable to your company and/or your job isnt that important if you’re able to take PTO and not at least send some e-mails.

I just left a very toxic work place.
The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. It felt like a used car sales pitch, I was sold a dream but given junk. I am constantly replaying moments. I have read so many books and everything leads to they were the problem. How do I recover from this?

Our company is considering offering 401K employer match. We are about 200 employees venture backed company. We have about 60% participation mostly the non HCEs and only some key employees contribute. We always pass top heavy test and wpassed the 2019 ADP/ACP test. We are aggressively hiring and project there will be increase in participation, particularly if we offer the match. Given this information would it make sense to continue with a traditional 401k plan or go with safe Harbor plan?
