Hi Fishes, I have offers from PwC(risk advisory) and IBM(app development). Thing is that the PwC joining is at Kolkata location but I don't want to go there and stay. There is not much difference between the offers in terms of package(10 & 10.4). Can I ask PwC to provide WFH or change my office location for this? Deloitte EY PwC KPMG
Hello Fishes, I am new here and would like your inputs on the Grade, Designation & Basic salary in TCS. 1. Is the Grade - 'C3B' & Designation - 'ASC - Associate Consultant' correct for 11 years and 6 months of experience ? 2. And is the Basic salary offered in TCS very less than the Market standard? Thanks in Advance 🙏🏼

Look up Candor’s article on tech salary negotiations. It’s specific to tech but it has a word for word script that I think could be tweaked and applied to agencies/other companies. Changed my life.
I just looked this up. Great article!
Phone. Always phone. And good for you for negotiating.
“Is there any flexibility in the salary?” is a great way to start the conversation. Do your research and have a number in mind beforehand. If they say “oh I’m gonna have to bring this to my manager,” you say “Great, thanks so much.”
If they can’t meet your number, ask about flexibility with other benefits (PTO, equipment upgrades, work from home lololol).
Agree negotiate via phone and follow up with an email thanking them for their time and restating the ask. Agree with the easy “any flex on salary” opening but I would quickly pivot to your value, ie “I wanted to ask if there was any salary flexibility, as I’m bringing three more years than required to the role and direct competitive experience.” Don’t make it a yes or no question, but lead them forward by providing rationale for why you’re worth it and remind them why they want you :)
Email, always email because you want to have things in writing.
It can be a simple note, mention a brief bit about why you deserve more (1 sentence) and always add urgency like saying “for this offer if sign today.”
Also keep in mind that offers are inclusive of your full salary package (vacation and sick time, 401k, healthcare etc.) what you might not get in paycheck dollars you can likely increase elsewhere.
I've always had luck bringing it up over the phone and then finalizing over email. My go-to line is "I was wondering if there's any flexibility with the salary?" And then they usually go find 5k more and send me the updated offer
I stand corrected and learned a lot from the other perspectives. Please disregard my initial comment
