In my opinion that credential won't have weight for u if it's 15 years old. They're going to care about you've done in the last 15 years more. The other thing I could see is opening the door for a network that can help get u on these boards. But then u have to ask yourself, is 150k student loan worth that? That's my opinion....could be wrong, but that's how I look at it

If you're thinking 15 years down the road, I'm wondering if doing an eMBA in ~10 years makes more sense? Especially since you don't seem like you're trying to leave your company or federal

I heard that it's more difficult to get gsap if you already have a Masters degree, unless you make a really really strong case for it. Personally, I got a master and decided I want to gain experience irl more than sitting back in a classroom but to each their own :)

All depends on what u wanna do after

Yeah, I agree. I'd prob stick it out at D trying to make PPD as long as I could. In the long run, outside of D, I'd like to serve on corporate and non-profit boards and be considered for exec positions in the gov't, non-profit or social impact space. I'm thinking of it more as a credential that I'd have on my resume to open doors 15 years from now and figure that if I have the option of getting it paid for that I might want to think about it. Also, say I do eventually want to leave D, it could prob signal well and solidify my business skills, but I'm not sure if these are strong enough reasons to justify the opportunity cost two years out of the workforce. GSAP doesn't pay for part-time MBAs. Also, I'd prob stay in the DC since my spouse and his job are here and I'm not sure if any of the DC programs are strong enough to make it worth it. Sorry, kind of long, but those are my general thoughts

C1- thanks for that intell. Very helpful! No, I agree. I'm not thrilled about the idea of going back to school. I def think an eMBA makes a lot more sense for me, but just wouldn't want to pay out of pocket. I haven't heard of D paying for those, but who knows

Yeah, I'm a woman and part of it is having the credential and also the idea that I could negotiate for more with a MBA, either inside or outside of D. Even thought I have a top masters, it does not hold the same $ power as even a MBA from a state school

Also, I feel like I am learning on the job at D much of whatever I would learn in a MBA

I am trying to pivot from UX design to product in tech.
Ideal sector: FinTech
Current sector: Mobile Gaming

If only 2 focuses, would you pick Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Innovation, or Global Challenges in Business?
Advice appreciated!
