So i feel like i really need to lateral soon because I am clearly being either pushed out or about to be fired.
Class of 21 m&a and super slow since august. Less then 50 hours a month slow.

However the market is slow and I might be a little too junior to be an attractive lateral hire right now. Any advice? I’m literally panicking.

Firm says there wont be any lay offs but this level of slowness is alarming

This is just the market right now. Expect to see more layoffs at other firms not named Cooley. Best of luck to us all.

(FWIW, I had a 10 hour August)

I don't think you're being pushed out or about to be fired, especially since others might be slow too

That's very strange. You're too junior to really distinguish yourself and screw up enough to get freezes out. Have you talked to the other 1st years to see who's giving them work? Are you female in a heavily male group? Minority in an all white group?

Class of 2020 and slow too. Group seems slow as well but not as slow as me? Idk. Glad to hear im not the only one! Slow since September

All firms are like this right now. Things are just slow

Are you me?? My billables in November were like 40. My performance review went ok but I’m wondering if it is a sign to try to switch pgs within the firm

Are all you slow folks in corporate / tech groups?

I was fired last month after a short time at the company. I knew things weren't going well- it was a terrible culture fit & I was also planning my exit strategy. They wouldn't give me specific reasons other than to vaguely say it was performance related. I agree I made a few dumb mistakes (none of any dire consequence) but what kills me is that I tried really hard. I don't want to change careers but I have a deep seeded fear that no matter how hard I try, I will never be a "good attorney".

I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.

I've changed jobs every year for the past 5 years, within the same field; I haven't worked at a place I would consider spending a long time at. He keeps volunteering me for projects without checking if I have capacity and if he expected to know everything I’m working on… he would’ve thought I was just doing nothing the last 2 months.
