So I got promoted this year to senior. Just got out of CRT and my raise is lower than last year. How the fuck does that make sense?

That happened to me too! I think they are cutting back as a firm! It's ridiculous!!

like

Raise is 25% lower money wise than last year. Seems like a slap in the face to me. Promo bonus is from Senior to Manager.

like

My first year with the firm I went from 59 to 74 then after making senior went to 81k so your situation isn't all unusual

like

Could have just been a good year for the firm they were giving out iPads and money to every employee for no reason back then and our expense/party budget was much higher

like

I got promoted to manager and got a smaller raise than last year. I feel your pain.

like

Lol me too! Thinking I'll be making the same as the previous year

like

Were you higher rated later year? I'd be upset too

like

Seems odd. They try to get you to the senior band of salary, my best guess is your salary was probably at the upper end as an associate. I know people that made senior in one year and went from making 60k to 78/79k after making senior

like

Your market must have had a rough year. Promoted to senior, 17.9% raise and 4% bonus.

like

like

You mean % or $$ ?

2 rating both years and it was lower both % and $ wise this year.

% lower make sense because your base is higher than last year; $$ lower, well depends how you look at it. Don't PwC has promo bonus on top of the raise? Also, maybe PwC has way too many people than they want, so everyone get less.

PwC don't have promo bonus from staff to senior?! I'm surprised... EY has two year for staff, and $5k promo bonus for staff to senior...

@p2 you got a 25% raise your first year or is that including all bonuses? Also it really doesn't make sense as there's meant to be some sort of milestone bump. What are the numbers OP?

Lower bonus and base overall for PwC, it's been well advertised for months now

@pwc4 how did you get a bonus from associate to senior ? If you just got promoted to senior ?

@PwC4 Which market are you in?

@pwc8&9 Associates get bonuses in my market (Tax LoS). I got one as a first year as well. Lake Erie market.

@Pwc4 ahh, was thinking it was the senior annual bonus, was gonna say thought we didn't get those til after our first year

I’m currently an AE and was offered a promotion to sales manager. I’ve been waiting for this next step but the offer only provides a 5% raise over what I currently make. We had several manger seats open and I know external people we hired received an offer atleast 20-30% more than I did.
I’m currently trying to negotiate but there doesn’t seem like there’s willingness to do so from our hiring team. Should I decline? Should I leave? Should I accept and start looking elsewhere?

I feel a little crazy saying this, but more money at this point doesn’t resonate. I see a ton of exit planning and boomerang threads here, but I’d take a 50% pay cut (or a 50% raise) for an exciting role. That’s totally privilege talking, but I just can’t imagine chasing extra money in PE or lateraling just for the money. No virtue signaling here at all. I actually worry on some level that I’m somehow a moron for not giving a thought to maximizing earnings.
