Hello! I have an interview with @Blizzard for a business system analyst role in a few days. It’s been scheduled such that there are 2 hour long interviews with different panels on the same day. Does anyone have any insights as to how @Blizzard interview processes go and what I should expect from it? Blizzard Entertainment

Life is so boring 😩
The word “gaslighting” is so hot rn
For the most part, there is probably a lot of truth to that statement. However, if the job you are in is miserable, it’s time to look for a different job. I personally worked towards my dream job for many years and loved the work and careers I was in, however some bosses can make life difficult and it may be better to work for someone else until they move on. I moved out of training to gain other department experience too, but also to get away from a difficult boss. Best decision I ever made, I went back to my dream job (with a promotion) with additional experience and got a great new boss. As far as the friend gaslighting, she/he is entitled to their own opinion and so are you. No need to feel they are forcing an opinion on you, if you have your own. Some people need to stay positive or they will not be able to handle their circumstances. It’s a coping mechanism that helps them.
Positivity will not change circumstances. However, part of the dissatisfaction is to think that a different job will bring you happiness. What you are saying to yourself with that statement is your current situation is worse than a future one. And in seeking to fix that, you will always look for validation into your instructions that your current job is worse than anything in the future. Feel abundant with the blessing you have. Create a clear vision of what you want to create. Then move towards it.
Or, it means you create it. Meaning when you choose to do something you should enjoy it. If you want to make a change and choose to do that you can do that also.
Everything is a choice
I completely understand this issue. One of my friends likes to live by the “only good vibes” mentality; it drives me nuts! I’ve recently gone through some heavy stuff (health scare, end of an abusive LTR, and some extensive therapy that has me focusing on building more honest relationships with my friends and family when I’m struggling) and I’ve had to stop seeing her outside of group get togethers. I love her, but she (and people like her!) are why it took me so long to notice some significant red flags in a relationship because I never felt comfortable sharing my problems with friends since I thought I was being a buzzkill.
Your best bet is to find support from others- other friends, family, or even a therapist- who can help you address your dissatisfaction. This friend just may not be one of those people.
Good luck! 💕
I think they might be referring to making positive change? If you’re feeling down about something in your workplace perhaps you could try to make a positive change to the negativity that’s affecting you. If you’ve already tried that then I would probably look elsewhere to “create your dream job”. I think the quote is what it is and you can interpret it in so many ways. But that’s how I look at it. Create the goodness that you want to be around you and if you can’t then create it elsewhere.
All of this is such great insight! Thanks!
While there probably is some truth to that statement you also know what’s best for you. If you are walking into work, and you are full of dread and it’s affecting your mental health then you need to bounce.
However, if there are tangible things you can do in your job to improve your position, then I say have a converse with your higher up to see what can be done. If not, then it’s time to dust off that resume.

I agree that the whole positive psychology thing is overblown. The psychologists uptalking it the most often lead relatively comfortable lives compared to the general US population.
Yes, many people can find better jobs than the ones they have now. But it’s hard for many people to understand they can maintain a positive mindset when they’re working three jobs, supporting three kids, or all at once.
