So, I have been wanting to travel more but the thing is, I'm single and my friends aren't as available to travel as they used to be. So, I am thinking of trying solo traveling. I am turning 38 this year and since I am not getting any younger, I want to start living. Any tips for a single female traveling alone for the first time? I'm thinking I might start with San Diego. I also want to go to Italy.

Girlll do it! Don’t wait on anyone to live your life. Ive been in the same boat and I’m 29. I don’t hold my ideas up for anyone. I just go! You can also try travel groups so you’re solo but in a group setting! Those are life changing for sure !

34. Been solo traveling for the past 8 years and I’m so glad that I started doing so. My friends always know my destination and they always know that they are welcome to come, but they also know I’m going with or without them.

I had a very similar realization. I listed all of the places I wanted to go and realized quickly I had to be brave enough to go alone if I was truly passionate about it.

Start small with US travel. Then slowly grow in how far you’re willing to go.

Most important: Don’t let others scare you out of seeing the world. Someone will always have something negative to say about safety, distance, culture, etc. - especially if they aren’t solo travelers (or travelers in general). Do not let that stop you!

There’s lots of content on YouTube/TikTok on how to solo travel safely, if that’s a concern for you. And 30 days on DuoLingo is always great if you feel concerned about any language barriers!

Go see the world! I’m so happy for you!

Definitely do it! I did a trip using a Canadian company called Gap travel and it catered to solo travelers. There were about a dozen people all with similar mindsets on a 3 week trip around Ecuador. It was awesome! I've done non-group ones solo too and they were phenomenal.

I'm the same. 36 single f. I'm very well travelled globally but less so alone. I've just realized that I'm the driving force behind even group trips sometimes, and that I can do it alone. I'd rather go alone than not go.

My last trip to the Philippines with a friend I did everything. She was hard to travel with. I'm doing it alone now.

Our district is so lax on the students this year. With tech issues and distance learning days, we’ve gone from accommodating to enabling real quick. No penalties for late work, taking excuses for attendance, lower academic and behavioral standards... We were beginning to make so much progress on transforming our school culture, but this year is erasing that and then some. Is anyone else concerned about how to raise the expectations and students’ self-discipline back to pre-enabling levels?

I started my first account job in Feb. As a junior account person, do you think I would be hindering my growth if I decide to stay remote? Right now, my team is split across BOS and NY, but I can’t wrap my head around the cost of living in those cities. I’m not opposed to being in those cities for the job opportunities, but I just don’t think I could afford to do so. And truthfully, I don’t know if I want to.
