So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

15+ years experience in Forensic Accounting. What would be considered fair pay in the NYC area? Average yearly Billings was 2,500, however recently took over the building out of systems, training younger staff, more marketing in a set region; basically more non billable work.

What matters more: meeting/exceeding billable requirements or doing high quality work well above your class year?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

What's the most rewarding thing in this field for you guys? Definitely not salary, although it's just decent.
For me, it's working with parents and when they are onboard, and we see the massive progress in the kids.

My firm keeps saying that "there's no such thing as a relationship partner" and everyone top-to-bottom is expected to log 2000 hours/year on real billable work. Marketing etc is done on top of that. There is little to no structure or direction from senior leadership, no access to client data, little to no billable work. Worst of all, no project is related to what I have been hired to do.

My employer offers 3 smart cycles through Progyny. We used .25 cycle for an IUI so far. It was diagnosed that one of my fallopian tubes is blocked. RE is suggesting that we keep trying through IUI when there is a follicle on the unblocked side. She also informed that we may need to do IVF in the future if this doesn't work. I want to see if I can save the Progyny cycles for the IVF and self pay for the IUI. Anyone have experience with this and know how much an IUI would cost Out of Pocket?

They are asking for the relieving letter and form 16 but I have not received it yet from Accenture. Can I tell that company that i will get the relieving letter within 22 to 45 days?

How long should I give new medication a chance to work and what should I feel? I was recently diagnosed. Initially, doc wanted to prescribe vyvanse, but we have to jump through hoops to get it, so we did concerta instead. I’ve been on it for five days, and I’ve felt extra anxious, sleepless, no focus, and irritable. How long do I keep at it before I could see a difference? And what should the meds make me feel? Does anyone else struggle with taking detailed notes during meetings and have tips for improving? One of the partners I work for demands that the most junior associate take detailed notes and circulate them after every call, but I have a hard time comprehending the call if I am taking notes because I’m focused on typing quickly. And my notes can be spotty when I get behind typing or get distracted.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and just started medication treatment, and I didn’t realize something was missing this entire time. My brain finally feels so calm!!

Studying for the bar, and my first 2 years of practice exacerbated my symptoms so badly. I couldn’t keep up with the long hours at work! I feel like I have a fighting chance now!

On my first full dose today and man the nausea is real. Understanding now why my doctor told me to split the dose into different parts of the day. Should have listened. 😅

Anyone have a positive experience with an online ADHD provider like Klarity, Done, ADHD Online, etc.? Mostly seeing negative reviews but they seem a lot more convenient.

Has anybody experienced high blood pressure on stimulants (Adderall)? If so, how was it treated? Did you have to discontinue ADHD medication?

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. I’ve tried earplugs but the noises tend to vibrate my office building so the earplugs don’t work well as an entire block.

I’ve been trying to figure out dosage and medication over the past month and wanted some insight from people who may have more experience with diff doses. I started with 5mg Adderall for 2 weeks but it stopped being effective around the 4-5th day. I switched to 10 mg for a week and it was good but a bit up and down, so switched to Vyvanse 30 mg for a week, which was too strong. I’m now on 15 mg Adderall, but it feels like I can’t concentrate and I’m scattered. Question in comments:
