So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

I felt the same way. I was looking at applying for some different jobs. In the end, I talked to my boss and she moved me to a different area and it is more interesting to me. I am happy to go to work again (usually). It’s also easier to want to work hard to show that I’m thankful that she worked with me and was understanding. I will say though, I work at a very small firm with a very understanding boss. I wouldn’t have done that with just anybody.

Hi. I am 8 weeks in and bleeding dark brown. Light bleeding. I have already checked last week through an ultrasound that it is not an ectopic pregnancy. There was normal heart beat. I know miscarriage is an option, but any other reason that I could be bleeding without miscarriage?

Does anyone find it hard to leave emotionally? I'm on the manager track for mid year promotion but I'm leaving PA soon for a financial reporting position role in a non-profit. Pay bump is 20% and better hours and benefit. Very trivial since in my field you can get so much more when you leave as a manager to industry. I'm excited for the new position, It has so much potential and the people seem great. Truth is I find my current tax field is super interesting but damn it's complicated.

EY initiated GC/PERM last fall, timeline shows I should be able to get it by next summer but depends on promotion which isn’t guaranteed in my practice. Have another offer from Big4 with much better pay and promoted title but will have to re-start GC/PERM after a year. Should I stay and hope that promotion comes through in time for PERM filing? or take the offer?

Posting here since I know I’ll get shamed further in other bowls and I’m already feeling shame.
