So I just joined this company about 1.5 months ago, have had a loss in the family so took three bereavement days. Was planning on taking the day off and spending time with my partners family July 2 but on a call we just had, seems like no one else on my direct team is taking any days off leading up to the holiday. Would this make me look bad for taking that day off?/having already taken three days since I joined?

No! At least not on my account - no one blinks. Bereavement leave isn’t vacation. You need to destress.

I lost my father 1.5 months ago. Without taking the time off I needed I wasn't able to assure myself of doing well at work at all. Take ALL the time you need. And do not apologize for it. Humanity dictates that your team understands. I am sorry for your loss and really hope you're able to stay strong.

Thank you so much. I’m so sorry for your loss as well ❤️

No. You do you. I lost two family members this year and took all the bereavement that was allotted to me. I’m sorry for your loss, OP. Take your time.
