Any dermatology research opportunities?
It’s more relevant to a backpacking / survival/ emergency situation and is to a large extent environment dependent. Essentially if it’s very cold outside you can only survive for a few hours without adequate protection from the elements from clothing or shelter. It allows people to prioritize how they focus their energy in an emergency.
I've heard of people doing these kind of fasts for 30 days or longer even. I think that doing it for that long consecutively will cause more harm than good in the long run. It can cause deficiencies and digestive issues.
I really like that guy, but I'm worried that he will lead other people to make risky decisions for their health. He has access to way more resources than most people & likely has lots of doctors on standby. Not everyone has that luxury. I haven't watched the series yet, but maybe I'll start it today. That kind of fasting sounds intense.
In this fast does he do completely without food or anything. I've heard of some people doing water fast for extended amounts of time which I wouldn't recommend, but it he at least drinking water in this show?
Ohhh I see. I usually recommend that water fasts last no longer than 24 hours.
Hearing it on the news made me sad. Poor Chris. Love him! Well anyway, I agree that it wasn't healthy at all since it lasted for 4 days. Fasting for a few hours is fine since we subconsciously do it anyway. I say the maximum amount of time you can fast is 24 hours, longer than that would come with risks. But I did read scientific blogs about this but I'm still on the fence with this fasting trend I see everywhere.
I have read reports that recommend once a year a three day water fast. It literally was a report based on studies conducted. I recommend you actually look into it. I have done this only twice in my life. I can honestly say, once I arrived at the end, I wasn’t hungry at all. I definitely wouldn’t have hunted for food. Water was all I required
Where can I watch this documentary. I’m so curious now. Also, I have this app called Fast- it has a lot of articles to support various types of fast.
I'm a big fan of the benefits of therapeutic fasting and low-carb diets. Scientific evidence-based research studies by Drs. Jason Fung, Eric Westman, Gary Taubes, Ted Naiman, Stephen Phinney, and the DietDoctor.com website are worth consideration.
Same! I just ended a 5 day liquid fast
I saw the answer and while what I don't think what he did would be healthy on a long term scale, I understand the science behind how not eating would make him a better hunter. He would have more motivation and consequently think quicker and more effeciently.
The benefits of autophagy from fasting seem worth a 24-48hr fast (water, tea, & black coffee do not mess this up & can be consumed), but 3x per year max.
I have not seen this but I need to dd it to my list. I am really curious about it now.
Yes! It is a must see!!
