So I teach Science and PE as well as do SPED. I’m on a sub credential while I finish up a couple of classes. WASC is saying that I am doing too much to provide rigor. I find that unjust and unfair. They spent all of 5 minutes in my classroom. I’m a great teacher and have been extremely flexible. Now I’m dinged for it?

Typical. It sounds like they just look at your resume and determine that one person can't possibly do multiple things well. Are there other teachers doing similar amounts of work in your school that can back you up?

What...what does that even MEAN? Did they say exactly what they meant by doing 'too much'?

Of course!!! You can’t do too little because we need to help the children but oh don’t do too much because you have to have time for self care. All the mixed messages are driving me nuts this year. Could someone who actually knows anything about education take charge and get rid of all the idiot admins out there????

Also wondering what curriculum is being used, if any, in your classrooms

So my supervisor over preschool was making site ‘visits’ last week. So the director was in my classroom not wearing a mask and was not practicing social distancing. What can I do(The director is not a person you can reason with. Talks down to the teachers)? Any advice?
Clarification: The reason for the site visit is that the ECE department is up for review this year and all admin are snapping at us for every little thing. Anything else then perfection is not acceptable.

I will be teaching Chemistry this year in a modular classroom with no lab area. Any suggestions on virtual labs? We have chromebooks at ourvschool.

This upcoming year our school district is trying early release every Wednesday. I find it difficult to cover all the standards in a high school math class, and now I am concerned with having to modify/reduce our curriculum. It will take 10-15 minutes out of the period on Wednesdays. Do you think it will change what we can teach? A colleague suggested a flipped classroom. I teach in an affluent area that only spent a couple weeks remote learning for all last year. Thoughts on flipped classroom?

Split classes take away joy! We have 6-7 classes at each grade level and they split 1-2 into the remaining 5 so we can have a 5 day schedule. Big classes plus the classroom culture homeroom teachers work so hard to achieve are ruined. Advice? (Plus we are told to "not be negative" by admin.)

Anyone have advice for talking to teachers in your school that are upset with you?
My 4th grade class didn’t show up today because the teachers are upset that student behaviors that are an issue in music are carrying over to their classroom. I understand their frustration, but nothing was communicated with me. I even thought things were going better this week.

What are strategies you have for teaching DBQs in your classroom?

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.
