Consulting

So I was in Chicago (Lincoln Park) and I come across this really nice men's tailor. Decided to go in and see if I can get myself a suit - we started chatting and he was like oh you work for Deloitte..

That's nice - my wife works for PWC and I have a lot of clients from consulting firms. We had become a little paly and so he followed that up with what's wrong with folks at Deloitte? They always seem rude - is that how we're perceived?!?!

@OP My fam mentioned I’m “always in a hurry” and “can’t slow down” since I joined the firm

Yep. Even when y’all come to work for Pdubs. Even when recruiters try to bring me over. Condescending is the word I would use. Seems ubiquitous.

I distinctly remember a conversation I had with my roommate 6 years ago after attending a Deloitte campus recruiting event. The presenters had a “we are superior than any other firm” kind of vibe. Also once in a cab, the driver out of nowhere goes “you must work for KPMG.” Then he shared his impressions of the other big 4, and his thoughts on Deloitte were that people were rude and had big egos.

Applied to pretty much every consulting firm except Deloitte out of college because of this... when my brother worked there he advised me to consider another industry before considering Deloitte.

Graduated from university a year ago and have been working in consulting since. I’d always thought that it was the perfect career for me, with my firm’s most senior partner even telling me that I have a great future in this industry. However, I’ve been consistently stressed beyond my mind and have been having frequent thoughts of quitting - my SO has also noticed my growing dislike for the job. Would appreciate advice on whether this is normal or a sign that I’m not cut out for this!

Following a previous thread about net worth. I'm 23 and trying to ramp up mt net worth and improve overall finances. I don't own a house (yet), no significant debt (6k car loan), good contribution to 401k, and starting saving heavily (including some light investing). Any advice on what practices you gals/guys have taken to improve your financial positions? I kinda feel stuck....after paying off my debt and making savings goal..not sure what else to do.
