So I was one of two final candidates for a position. I was not selected and was fine. What I do find issue was being told they loved me and still want to work with me. They referred me to one of their vendors - pay is 50k less and I would be working for the person I lost original position to. I am under the impression they do not realize how insulting they came off. AITA for saying below my salary expectations and not in line w/ career trajectory goals? Thanks but no thanks

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

Got an offer to move to Bain from PwC (have moved since I joined fb), it’d mean i went from director here to senior manager, so step down in role title/responsibilities but a small step up in pay.

Just received a nice offer for a job that an old colleague recruited me for. Would be moving from a job I like and have spent 8 years at. Told HR my range was $180-210k during our initial convo and that a more specific number would be based on benefit package. My goal was to hit $200k between base and bonus. Is 5 YOE considered entry level or associate? When I apply to associate level jobs I get nothing but rejections. And all the entry level jobs call for new grads or people with under 3 YOE.

I had an HR screening phone call with a recruiter who told me that the hiring manager had reviewed my application prior to our call and she expected that I’d move into the 1-on-1 virtual interview with the hiring manager. Within a 1/2 of the HR screening call, I received a call to schedule the hiring manager interview. I jumped on a call with a candidate to debrief from his interview results I asked him how felt it went and if he enjoyed the interviews. After he shared with me his feedback I started to highlight the areas where he did poor and where he did great. But in the middle of it he cut me off and said, can we just address the elephant in the room, did I pass it or not?. His approach threw me off but I wanted to share with him but it seems like his disregard everything I had said. Anyone experienced it?

I had an interview where the interviewer was acting extremely weird-almost as if she was trying to deter me from wanting the position. I shared about it in another bowl and many people suggested reaching out to the recruiter. After a lot of anxiety and overthinking, I reached out. I’m interviewing for jobs that would essentially lead to a minor career pivot. I have gotten to 4 straight final rounds (4-5 interviews and a presentation for each company) to be told I’m second choice in favor of someone with more experience.
